I'm going to commit some serious blasphemy, but I truly believe that the cover below, Richard Shindell live performing Bruce Springsteen's Fourth of July Asbury Park (Sandy), is the best version of this song.

I don't necessarily think it is the best version, being a Boss fan and all that. However, it is not bad, not bad at all. The one I would love to hear someone tackle is "Rosalita, Come Out Tonight." I saw him doing an interview and that song came up. The interviewer asked The Boss to describe the song and he said "Well, basically it's just a big mess." LOLOL!
