FOTD: Makeup In The Crack Of Dawn Featuring Lancôme Mes Incontournables de Parisienne Multipalette
Two weeks ago my sister took a red-eye flight and came here for a weekend. The Blond went to get her from the airport by himself, because my ability to function at 5 am is laughable. But I did get up s-l-o-w-l-y and got ready with the goal of not looking crazy or scary. I consumed a vat of tea while doing so, but still didn't trust myself to create an elaborate look. That's where the solid Lancôme Mes Incontournables de Parisienne Multipalette was the perfect tool. It saves one the need to think and coordinate much.
I did my base with the usual suspects: primers, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, cle de Peau concealer, NARS LRP loose powder. You've heard and seen it before, and I was not going to experiment at the crack of dawn. Then came the eyes: I used the shimmer shade under the lower lashes with a very thin brush, and created the shape of the lid and the crease with the top two eye shadows, blending them with Paula Dorf sheer crease brush, a tool I can wield in my slip. I turned again to Lancome for my eyeliner: the classic black Artliner, and Lancome Grandiose mascara, to make sure no eye stabbing occurs.
I under-applied the blush from the palette. It looks natural and pretty, but I admit I could use a heavier hand. These photos, taken before 6 am show that I need a little more color. For the eyebrows I mixed the two lightest shades and pushed them in with an angled brush, making it more even with a spoolie. Then I dabbed a little Shiseido Rosalie on my lips and ran to the door to greet my sister.
Later this happened:
Other things: my earrings are vintage, Yemenite silverwork, a gift from a very dear reader and friend, RedNails.
Azeh yofi!
ReplyDeleteToda Raba :)
DeleteI think of you every time I wear the beautiful earrings.
Those colors are so very flattering on your eyes. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eileen. These colors are the perfect solution for a makeup look when one is not awake yet.
DeleteOh my - you two are sisters indeed .. very alike :)
ReplyDeleteLove the makeup colours too!!!
Thank you, LJ :)
DeleteI rarely see any resemblance, except in the hair. Our mother has also a similar mane.
Sisters--they're the best!
ReplyDeleteIndeed. I'm thankful for mine (and for the best gift she's given me: my niece and nephew).
Deleteawww, so cute, you both have gorgeous hair.
ReplyDeletenow you make me miss my sister, have not seen her almost 2 years (she's doing a phd in another continent). but we have this scene all the time, with me doing her face. aah, the sisters of makeup junkies, long live their patience!
I'm with you, Lena. My sister lives in another continent and I miss her dearly.
DeleteI spy with my little eye some Bal a Versailles!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are too cute.
Thank you :)
DeleteAnd, yes, that's a recently-acquired vintage bottle of the parfum de toilette. Because I can never have enough of that.
An absolutely beautiful photo of the two of you! And you both so won the cosmic lottery for gorgeous hair. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnd the photo somehow manages to convey how well the two of you get along - far greater luck even than winning the hair lottery.
Anna
Thank you, Anna. Having a grownup relationship with my sister is truly a gift.
