NARS Dual-Intensity Eye Shadow- Pasiphae Fall 2015
There was only one thing I wanted from NARS fall 2015 Private Screening collection: the new Dual-Intensity eye shadow in Pasiphae. Who can resist a duochrome that looks like a scarab beetle? This little wonder by NARS changes with the light, as I've tried to show you above. It reflects green and warm brown (think of a disco version of MAC Club after a round of hallucinogenics), and the magpie in me absolutely had to have it. Then it was time to figure out how to wear it.
NARS Dual-Intensity eye shadows are best when applied with a small lay-down brush exactly where you want that kind of intensity (see my reviews of Giove & Callisto, Subra & Desdemona, and Dione & Himalia). A dab with your finger also works well, just remember that they're not meant to be blended and diffused. There are other eye shadows for that.
I find that in Pasiphae's case applying the color with a damp brush adds absolutely nothing. Yes, it's a little shinier, but for some reason even a thin layer of paint seemed to be prone to flaking, so not worth it. The chameleon quality of Pasiphae is strong enough when dry and looks stunning as is. Paired with muted bronzy fall color it makes for a great evening look.
Bottom Line: everyone needs a crazy color in their lives.
NARS Dual-Intensity Eye Shadow for Fall 2015 in Pasiphae ($29, made in Italy) is available at all the usual suspects, in store and online.
That's a stunning shade!
ReplyDeleteI know! I just had to have it no matter what.
DeleteOh! My precious.....
ReplyDeleteHope this isn't a repeat, but...I had to order this when I first saw it on the NARS website. I really need something green to wear this fall, but think this shadow will look great with any fall color. I really can see both shades of this cuckoo color.
ReplyDeleteI bought this! It's so beautiful!

So I actually love this shade softly blended out! It's like a "one and done" bronze except with a green effect. It's been my go to quick weekend look.
