PERFUME: Getting out the scents I'd put away for fall/winter (my tradition of rewarding myself after days of spring cleaning), always such a glorious rediscovery! Sniffed the very few drops left in my decant of Amouage Jubilation XXV and Oh Have Mercy it's GOOD!! SO Good :) I'm all a-Swoon :)

Perfume: Mona di Orio Cuir Les Nombres d'or. Heaven. Like sex in a bottle. I love the smoke and leather so much.
Makeup: Ellis Faas skin veil - best foundation ever
Guilty pleasure: iced dirty chai from starbucks

Bane: online dating and men who disappear
Joy: the best of friends
Anticipation: VACATION IN MEXICO!!!!!!!
Wish list: so much
Random thought: Spring fever has me feeling restless.
Perfume: Vintage YSL Y, Ma Griffe and CM Christopher Street are getting a lot of wrist time.
ReplyDeleteReading: Rereading Nadezhda Mandelstam's Hope Against Hope and Osip's The Noise of Time.
Bane: Perfume evaporation from very tightly shut, carefully stored bottles. I can accept (sort of) when this occasionally happens to some of my vintage bottles, but just discovered that two of my Pradas, Benjoin and Opoponax, both with screw tops have lost a significant amount to evaporation. Aaargh! I have five other Prada bottles from that series and it hasn't happened to them, so am not sure what went wrong with these two, but am *not* delighted.
Joy: Spring! Every crocus, every hyacinth, every dandelion, every blooming tree, every daffodil - I want to applaud them all. Frankly, it's to the point where I almost embarrass myself by how overjoyed I am to see all the plants coming up and the signs of warm weather returning. This is the time of year when I most appreciate living in NC.
Current food obsession: Pistachios - all about childhood memories.
Wishlist: New large clay pots (this winter did unfortunate things to pots I've had for centuries) and a Harry Lauder Walking Stick tree.
Random thought: It would require chains to keep me inside on a gorgeous day in spring or summer. And, even then, I am betting I could find a way to get free of the chains.
