Tocca Crema Veloce Set- Giveaway
Tocca is one of those brands that make the best gifts. Delightful packaging, impossible -not-to-like scents (even Cleopatra that's generally too "fresh" for my taste is so nice), and really great quality. The trio mini hand cream tubes in the Crema Veloce Set are a great example of this. I've been a fan of Tocca hand creams for a while (I finished that tube of Giulietta in record time), and would have done the same thing with this set of pretties that includes Cleopatra (grapefruit and cucumber), Stella (Italian blood orange), Florence (bergamot and gardenia). However, I've developed a ridiculous and painful sensitivity to coconut oil and all its derivatives, so I have to let this set go without testing.
My loss is your gain. One lucky reader who answers the question below and will be chosen randomly, is going to receive this Tocca Crema Veloce set. The draw is open to US residents over the age of 18 (subject to all the laws and regulations of the State of New Jersey). In order to be entered please share a hand maintenance tip, your perfect manicure secret, or a favorite hand product, and please (PLEASE!) include a name and a way to reach you (email or Twitter account).
The product I'm giving away (retail price $20) was sent to me free of charge by Tocca's PR, and is unopened and obviously unused.
Thank you for this giveaway, I love Stella and Cleopatra fragrances! My hand maintenance tip is to keep your hands out of water as much as possible: I have painful eczema on my hands and having them submerged when doing house chores really exacerbates flare-ups. My name is Monika, lol, and here's my Twitter handle: @rocaillewrites
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blog and have read it daily for years.
I use organic virgin olive oil for my hands and cuticles, this keeps my sensitive skin smooth and moisturized.
Thanks,
Carla

Always, ALWAYS apply lotion after washing your hands. Even if they don't seem dry after that last washing. So basic I know, but it saves my hands from slowly desiccating.
ReplyDeleteMy hand maintenance tip is to never use hot water. Even when I'm washing dishes I do it with lukewarm water. My eczema always flairs up if I use hot water. My name is Katherine Lewis and my email is [email protected]
ReplyDeleteSorry you can't use this set! I've actually got two tips - I get a manicure every two weeks from a lovely lady who has been doing my nails for over 8 years - she takes care of my nails as if I were her mother! My second tip is to use hand cream often - I have multiple tubes at work and all over my house, including always in my purse. One I highly recommend is Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Moisturizing Hand Treatment!
ReplyDeleteI've used Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream for probably almost 40 years and can't do without it. I have a tube in almost every room at home, in my purse, and in my office desk drawer. It can even help chapped lips in a pinch. I'd love to try the Tocca though. [email protected]
ReplyDeleteThank you for the draw - though I'm sorry about your sensitivity to coconut oil. :( Sadly I have no hand maintenance tips - I bite my nails and my hands look generally manly and worn despite my not that old age... but I do love the Caudalie hand and nail cremes! I got a trio from Sephora and they're one of the first lotions I can wear where the scent is lovely, sophisticated and doesn't get overbearing. My nose is pretty sensitive and I can usually hardly tolerate strongly scented lotions. [email protected] -sun
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting this giveaway! When I apply eye cream I also like to dab a little on my cuticles. My hands get torn up at work and this has helped reduce the hangnails and peeling skin I was experiencing. [email protected]
ReplyDeleteMy manicure secret is that the better shape your nails are in, the longer your polish lasts. My nails used to peel & tear, and thus polish would chip instantly. Since my nails are naturally too flexible and prone to tearing, I get much better manicure results if I use a strengthening treatment regularly - Nailtiques Formula 2 is my current favorite.

My manicure routine can range from super simple to rather complicated, but my first line of defense is always moisturisation. Hand creme is a good friend to my dry skin, but sometimes I get lazy about cuticle oil and the results are usually not very pretty. :/ Lately I've been keeping the travel pen OPI oil in my handbag to encourage more frequent usage, which has been helping.

The only thing that keeps my hands from being a total disaster is conscientious use of lotion, morning, evening, every hand washing and whenever I feel they need more.

I unfortunately have a job that requires washing my hands pretty much every ten minutes. It's killer on my hands, especially in the colder weather! I have found that cocoa butter works extremely well, and lasts through a couple hand washes with soap (which is better than most lotions I have tried).

My hands used to be pretty, but now they definitely need help. I try to use lotion every time I wash my hands. I need a good tip for dry cuticles. Mine are very rough! I have used Burt's Bees cuticle wax in the past.

I frequently rub neroli-infused jojoba oil on my nails and my cuticles are softer for it. A dab does me, my little any time luxury.

My manicures have been so much better since I started using Sephora's Formula X base and top coat. They are much cheaper than the OPI ones I'd been using. The polish goes on smoother, lasts longer and the top coat is so shiny. Definitely recommend you check it out.

Hey there - my name is Marsha and my best hand maintenance and manicure tip is to keep some kind of moisture at every sink where I wash my hands. I've also learned that before applying polish, instead of wiping nails down with alcohol or polish remover, the talking heads now say to leave nails moisturized and I've found that this works better. Also, polish requires oil just like your nails. Just wipe off any excess with a tissue. My email address is [email protected]
ReplyDeleteThank you for the draw!
I absolutely love Sephora X erase cuticle cream, it keeps my cuticles smooth and I don't need clip them off or get the urge to pick at them. I also once a month use tony moly mandarin whitening hand cream to keep any freckles or discoloration at bay.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giveaway- Shayna @nailosophy Twitter
My tip is to put oil on nails and cuticles before going to bed at night. I usually try to do this after washing my face and brushing my teeth etc. Pretty simple. Thanks for doing this giveaway. I've never tried Tocca hand creams -- would love to see how they perform.
ReplyDeleteI cook and bake so much during the winter that to avoid painful skin splits I use Aquaphor ointment and white cotton gloves every night. It's also great as a lip treatment to heal chapped lips.

I love hand creams and should be more attentive to my hands! I guess one of my best tools is a Revlon Cuticle Trimmer which I've had for many years - I really should use it more often too. [email protected] - Sarita
ReplyDeleteRub Almond Oil at the cuticles and really really massage it it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the give away.

Thanks for the giveaway! My manicure tip involves coconut oil, sorry, but it's really helped me - I love to paint my nails but they peel. I started massaging coconut oil into my nails before painting and the peeling has improved dramatically.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the draw! I can't live without hand cream especially when the weather is cold. My favorite is Shea Butter by L'Occitane.
ReplyDelete[email protected]
my current favorite hand cream is Caudalie. I also have eczema on a finger that I have to keep lotion on.
ReplyDeleteThe draw is now closed. Winner will be announced shortly. Many thanks to all who participated!
