Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof- Minuit, Golden Riviera, Marine Chic- Summer 2014
Lancôme French Riviera Color Collection for Summer 2014 includes three limited edition eyeliner pencils in the Le Style Waterproof range: Minuit, Golden Riviera, and Marine Chic. Minuit is a grayed navy, a great color that works as a black alternative, dark enough but with that extra something that really brings out brown eyes. Below is a swatch comparison to Lancome Le Crayon Khol in Black Lapis (still the best color in the known universe), and you can see that Minuit is, more navy and less vibrant.
Golden Riviera is a yellow gold, good for creating contrast and brightening. It's trendy, and can be smudged nicely (there's a sponge tip on the other side of the pencil) and used as a base for another color. Gold is a bit out of my comfort zone, but just a hint of this color adds a touch of summer to an evening look. Marine Chic is a fun cobalt blue, a bit 80s retro but wearable when you keep everything else neutral and use a light hand.
The formula of Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof is fantastic. It strikes the perfect balance between creamy-pliant and budge-proof. It stays put, supports the rest of the eye makeup and doesn't sting when removed.
Bottom Line: get Minuit while you can.
Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof in Minuit, Golden Riviera, Marine Chic ($27 each) are limited edition colors for Summer 2014. Available at the counters and directly from lancome.com. The products for this review were press samples.
Light hand? I've been going for the bold cobalt liner look for a couple of weeks now. Mostly (though not only) at night. I've loved the color and texture of YSL's Azure waterproof liner, which I've paired with their (fantastic!) Riviera-colored Ombre Lumieres palette. But for serious durability I've also been trucking out my favorite Nars liner with a bit more aqua to it (London). And for work, a light dusting of YSL's palest, lowest-shimmer, pastel blue.
ReplyDeleteIs there anything better than blue eyeshadow? Hooray for the eighties!! And thanks for the post. I'll have to head to Macy's to play with the Lancome!
