Color Design lipstick is the third or fourth tier of Lancome lipsticks (after the various L'Absolu ranges and Rouge In Love collections). It's an older and reliable formula: I used to wear Sugared Maple about 15-12 years ago, that comes in five finishes: cream, sheen, shimmer, metallic and matte. Red Stiletto, which I recently got as a GWP in an online order has a classic cream finish.
The lipstick stays put without moving or fading for about three or four hours as long as one doesn't eat more than a snack. It does transfer to a tea cup, but most red lipsticks in the universe do. The color itself looks more red in the bullet, but pulls magenta when applied, especially on my dark lips. While it's not the much-desired red stiletto hue to match my Manolos it is still a sexy color and a decent lipstick.
Bottom Line: It's a backup color in my travel bag.
Lancome Red Stiletto Color Design Lipstick ($22.50) is available at the counters and from lancome.com.
