I needed an everyday tote bag that zips up completely and securely, large enough to carry a reasonable amount of items but not so big that I'd be tempted to throw half of my belonging inside. Just as I was browsing some of my favorite haunts searching for the unicorn I got an email about a sale on The Beta Version. Their Frida bag was (still is) offered at 40% off (€114.00, previously €190.00), and it was the perfect fit: 31.5 x 31 x 9 cm is the right size. One click (two, if you also count Paypal) and it was ordered.
The strap sits comfortably and is adjustable to three different lengths, and the top zipper closure is nice and secure. The Beta Version signature is the perforated geometrical patterns, and I also love the little turquoise details and the tassel. There are two inside pockets, one zippered and the other open for quick access to your cell phone. The label is sewn inside, and the finish is excellent. I can also tell you that The Beta Version's customer service is incredible, and the bag arrived here from Hungary in less than a week. I'm hooked (my wish list now includes almost every single item in the store), and already planning my next purchase: the red iPad cover. Must. Have.
The Beta Version collection is available online (http://thebetaversion.com/) and is shipped internationally (shipping to the US was 20 euros).
Oh, just get out of here. I can't believe how gorgeous that bag is, great find! Staring, staring, I keep staring. By the way, how many black bags do you have? I always like to ask fellow bag-hounds this.
