I have a few events scheduled for this week, and at least one of them calls for a dark smoky eye. Tuxedo Black, one of the newer colors in Bobbi Brown's excellent Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick range, is a good option for such a look. It's a true black color, even if not quite "the blackest black" as described on Bobbi Brown's website. It's darker and more opaque than any off-black colors I know, so it works beautifully for a dramatic eye makeup look.
The texture of Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Sticks is excellent: creamy enough to glide on and blend effortlessly, sets quickly and stays put all day or all night, true to the Long-Wear promise. I'm sure the formula is not completely identical to Laura Mercier's Caviar Sticks, but I use these eye shadows interchangeably and don't bother to look which one I grabbed from the pen holder that houses them-- I only go by color.
Bottom Line: not just for Taylor Momsen and Robert Smith.
Bobbi Brown Tuxedo Black Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick ($28) is available at the counters and from bobbibrowncosmetics.com.
I wish you would post some pictures of your looks :). It'd be so nice to see looks on a person of my own age, rather than always being slightly disappointed that i don't look like a 20-year-old blogger when I'm done ;).
