Swatches of Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadow refills in Unforgettable Oriole, Abyssinian Catbird, Bohemian Waxing, Papyrus Canary, Eclipse Eagle, and Umber Firefinch.
I completely forgot that I had these eye shadows sitting around for ages; I've meant to post them when the it was first announced that Rouge Bunny Rouge was going to have an NYC location, which is finally about to open (they'll have the full line, by the way). These are some of the older eye shadow colors from the line, so before the new ones are here I figured I should really get on with it (you can see more Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadow refill swatches here, and there are even more of their single eye shadows on the blog that you can find either by using the search box on the right or by clicking the Rouge Bunny Rouge label below).
Rouge Bunny Rouge offers eye shadows in various finishes. Their matte texture is legendary, but the satin and fine shimmer are just as great. They're a joy to use and wear, and I'm always delighted by the complexity of the colors, no matter how neutral they appear at first glance. The six colors here are:
Unforgettable Oriole- a shimmery warm ivory/beige
Abyssinian Catbird- a metallic bronze that has an almost green tinge in a certain light
Bohemian Waxing- a shimmery cafe-au-lait with an iridescent finish
Papyrus Canary- an almost skin tone matte beige. It's barely visible in the swatch above, but I'm using it as a base color on my lids.
Eclipse Eagle- a plummy taupe with an iridescent finish.
Umber Firefinch- an iridescent cool brown.
Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadow refills ($19 each) and case ($12 each) are currently available from rougebunnyrouge.com and beautyhabit.com; Twisted Lily in Brooklyn (360 Atlantic Avenue) will have a physical counter in a few weeks (as well as online).
Ugh god these are beautiful. The Abyssinian Catbird color is heavenly! Thank you for posting swatches! Also as an aside I am slightly obsessed with your blog, and your comments on award show dresses always crack me up, and I love all your perfume posts- I'm partial to slightly more interesting, uncommon fragrances so it's great to see you feature so many amazing ones! Thank you for one of my favorite blogs :)
ReplyDeleteEmma, thank you so much! Readers like you are what keeps me going.
DeleteBeautiful, these are some of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be an annoying commentator, but I wonder if you might have switched the labels on your swatches between Bohemian Waxwing and Unforgettable Oriole?
Not annoying at all! Thank you for spotting it and letting me know. I managed to mix the labels even with working with a list and making a sketch on paper. I blame it on the cats.
DeleteThanks for posting these. These are such beautiful shadows. I bought Bohemian Waxwing before the holidays to try out. Every time I wore it, my college age daughter would tell me how beautiful my eye makeup looked. I love everything about this shadow and cannot wait to try more.
ReplyDeleteTatiana, I have a feeling that BW is going to be your getaway drug. I vaguely remember starting with one RBR eye shadow, which has brought me here. I bought most of them over the last couple of years.
DeleteI have that feeling too. I bought it in the complete case. If I depot it, do you know whether or not it will fit in one of the 3 pan cases? I guess what I'm asking is whether the refill shadows and the cased shadows are the same diameter. Because I'm already plotting my next purchases.
DeleteTatiana, the refills are smaller, so the full size shadows won't fit in the 3 pan keeper.
DeleteThank you for the helpful info!
