Palm Beach is one of Laura Mercier's lipstick colors that are being repromoted as part of the Spring 2014 collection. It's a beautiful bright coral that cheers me up to no end. It's a bold color, for sure, though my lips are dark and rosy enough naturally so they take the edge off quite a bit and cancel any hint of orange.
The formula of Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour seems to have a little more slip than the regular Crème lipstick, and perhaps a touch more shine to the finish, but I haven't tried all the colors from the two ranges. I can say that Palm Beach Crème Smooth Lip Colour is, indeed, very smooth. The lipstick is easy to apply, comfortable to wear, and has a pretty good lasting time (according to the Laura Mercier website 6-8 hours, I find that the stain lasts closer to 5-6 hours, but it may be longer for darker colors). The coverage of Palm Beach is medium to medium plus, and it doesn't seem to be scented. By the way, it seems that Laura Mercier has upgraded the packaging of the lipsticks: the new case is sleeker, square, and slightly heavier. The cap fits tightly and the overall impression is more luxurious than ever.
Bottom Line: yes, please.
Laura Mercier Palm Beach Crème Smooth Lip Colour ($26, but the price will climb to $27 soon) is available at the counters and from lauramercier.com. The product for this review was sent by PR.
Orange lipstick must end.
