Dior- My Rose DiorBlush Vibrant Colour Powder Blush
Let's start with swatch and color itself: My Rose (#943) is a much lighter color than one would expect. If you're darker than my sort-of NC35 skin tone or sport a visible tan (fake or real), than this particular DiorBlush from Dior will do absolutely nothing for you. Looking at the swatch on my arm you can see that the color and texture meld with my skin. It's a beige mauve kind of thing, only slightly rosy, and doesn't contrast with my coloring. The result is a very natural pink flush that catches the light ever so slightly. I like it as part of an evening look when I either do a very strong eye look or a classic black liner and red lipstick. That said, I do need to build My Rose up a little using a dense Hakuhodo 210 blush brush.
Other things about DiorBlush: the texture is very fine and luxurious. It reminds me of the best Chanel has to offer, both in the way the powder behaves on skin and in the refined shimmer. It's a great quality blush and I'll probably give the more vibrant colors a chance and at least try them at the counter if not purchase one or two (New Red and Happy Cherry look promising). I hope Dior will expand the color range. There's a visible vacancy in the rose and plum area of DiorBlush, while peachy and apricoty shades rule the line. Another issue is the little brush. I don't have any expectations from blush brushes that come with the compact, but the floppy and scratchy specimen in this case was particularly bad. It doesn't pick the color, feels horrible on the skin and makes a much better cat toy than a makeup brush.
Bottom Line: Great potential. Test the color at the counter (and you don't need My Rose #934 if you have Chanel Rose Ecrin.
Dior- My Rose DiorBlush Vibrant Colour Powder Blush ($42) is available at the counters and from Sephora.
I really love these new blushes- so far I have Happy Cherry, New Red, and Coral Cruise. They are bright, but buildable and still natural even on fair skin.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a natural flush looking blush for my extremely fair skin. This one looks like it will be a contender.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I have NW15 skin so I may have to go check this out.
