Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks are among my favorite eye makeup products ever. These foolproof cream eye shadows in stick form are the base of many makeup looks that appear much more sophisticated than the smudge-and-go thing that they are. I'm there whenever Laura Mercier adds more colors (and I use up and restock my perennial favorites). Holiday 2013 brings us two new Caviar Sticks: Twilight and Sterling. I was sent Twilight for review and have been wearing it every day since it arrived. The color appears pewter-like and has pretty metallic finish. But it's more than that. I find that it's an incredibly complex shade that works well with the natural warmish tone of my skin and looks far more sophisticated than I ever expected.
Laura Marcier Caviar Sticks are wonderfully creamy and blendable, but once set they don't budge. It makes the Caviar Sticks great on their own or as a supporting base for powder eye shadow (especially sheer ones like Chanel). Twilight works beautifully with the new cake eyeliner in Gunmetal, but I also wore it with liquid liners in black and navy and nothing else. The complexity of this color makes it need very little for creating a very quick eye makeup look for day or night.
Bottom Line: a new staple.
Laura Mercier Twilght Caviar Stick Eye Colour ($26) for Holiday 2013 is available at the counters and from lauramercier.com. The product for this review was sent by PR.
Oh my goodness, must. have. I am a caviar addict too, they are the best for a very quick but polished look and for a weekend away, a couple of caviar sticks can stand in for a whole eye palette. Now to wait till I can get my grubby little paws on this one!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get this! I haven't had time to stop by a LM counter to look at this collection, but now I know what to purchase first :)
ReplyDeleteI bought my first 2 sticks this weekend and I can see myself adding to those. How do you find these fare compared to the Bobbi Brown similar ones?
ReplyDeleteI am wearing Amethyst today and African Violet+Kir Royale from the LM Artist Palette (I am a black woman and they show up nicely on my skin)
I really enjoy the ease of use and excellent quality of LM's caviar sticks, they have gotten quite a bit of wear this Fall, especially the Cocoa and Khaki. Looks like this is a must-have for the Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI would really love to get your opinion on these LM Caviar Sticks vs the Jouer Crème Eyeshadow Crayons. I've heard such good things about both but I'm not near a counter to try any in person.
