Givenchy Haute Couture Look Makeup Set includes a full size Noir Couture 4 in 1 Mascara in Black Satin and a mini Le Rouge Lipstick in 103 Brun Creatéur. I picked the set because I was out of my trusty Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes and wanted to try something new. It was a great value (the lipstick is essentially free since you only pay for the mascara) and the packaging reminded me of those luxury travel sets you can buy from the duty-free shop at the airport. I may hate airports and all that has to do with them, but I do like the makeup selection of LVMH brands at their stores.
Givenchy Noir Couture mascara is a very nice product. While it doesn't give quite the same impact of the Phenomen'Eyes, the formula seems a bit more stable, so while I personally have no issue with smearing and smudging when I wear PE, I know that for some people its formula is a no-go. The brush is pretty good for what it is (I'm probably the only one in the universe who actually prefers plastic combs to traditional mascara wands), though I can't say that it's all that good at curling. Then again, that's what the lash curler is for.
Can I tell you how much I love mini lipsticks? I wish there was an option to buy every lipstick under the sun in this size. While I use up buckets of gloss and sheer lipstick every year, full coverage lipsticks last don't require frequent reapplying last in my vast collection for a long time. Long enough to make me worry about turning and spoilage. Mini lipsticks are not only the answer to that, but also save space and travel well. The mini of Givenchy Le Rouge 103 Brun Creatéur is in no danger of languishing in a drawer. The semi-matte finish and light-as-air formula are among the most elegant ones on the market. 103 Brun Creatéur is a warm rose that works as a perfect neutral for me: the natural color of my lips and the warm pigment of this Givenchy lipstick seem to cancel each other (or complement each other) and work extraordinarily well together.
Bottom Line: a great gift (for myself).
