In case I needed more evidence that my eyesight is not what it used to be (seriously, the glasses I ordered cannot get here soon enough), here's a story that proves it beyond reasonable doubt: I got a couple of products from Le Couvent Des Minimes. One was a lovely shower gel which I'll talk about next week, and the other was this jar of Complete Nourishing Cream. Since the other item was obviously a body product I simply assumed that the cream was one as well. Yes, it says visage in a smaller print on the box, and the directions on the jar tell you to apply the cream onto a "clean dry face", but I can barely see it. Until I looked it up online I haven't realized that the utterly fabulous shea butter cream I've been applying on my elbows and such before bed for the last two or three weeks was actually a face cream.
*facepalm*
Le Couvent Des Minimes- Complete Nourishing Cream looks like a cold cream, but has the distinct pleasant smell and feel of a shea butter product. Yoou'll notice that shea butter is the second ingredient on the list (after water), so no wonder my skin feels happy and nourished every time I apply it. There's a lingering softness that can be felt and seen the next morning, and quite a supple sensation. The cream is designated for dry or delicate skin and I have to agree-- it's thick, buttery, and very calming. I actually think it's too heavy for my face, at least before midwinter, but the jar is already half gone because it supplies so much moisture and comfort anywhere else.
Ingredients:
Aqua/Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Glycerin, Corn Starch Modified, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium PCA, Sorbitol, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Rosa Moschata Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Rosa Gallica Flower Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Parfum/Fragrance, Ceteareth-33, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexyglycerin, Tocopherol, Benzoic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Dehydroacetic Acid, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Sodium Phytate, Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Benzoate, Alcohol
Bottom Line: My mixing the use of a face cream is not nearly as bad as the time my mom couldn't see the label clearly and used garlic powder instead of powdered sugar in her creme patisserie. Twice.
