This is an easy one. Laura Mercier released the Caviar Sticks two years ago in seven basic colors and I've been a fan since then. I've already had to repurchase Sapphire and Amethyst, and also added several of the newer shades to my collection, just not any of the lighter ones. Silly me. Grey Pearl and Sand Glow might not have the wow factor, but they're complex, pretty, and wonderfully versatile. You can see the comparison swatch that shows Grey Pearl next to Amethyst: it's even more lower lashline-friendly (I usually avoid dark colors under my eyes).
Grey Pearl is a lighter (and grayer) version of Amethyst, while Sand Glow is somewhere between brass and dirty antique gold. Both are excellent neutrals that work alone or combined with other Caviar Sticks. The texture of Laura Mercier's Caviar Sticks has made them favorites of many. They're perfect for travel and use on the go. They're easy to apply: swipe, smudge, and forget about it until cleansing time. Once the color is set there's no migrating or melting (I do use a primer) even in the summer heat.
Laura Mercier Grey Pearl & Sand Glow Caviar Sticks ($26 each) are available at the counters and from lauramercier.com.
Both colors are gorgeous! Grey Pearl and Amethyst would work beautifully for a tone-on-tone look. I've been pairing my LM Sapphire as a liner with LMdB's Corinthian and it's perfect for a daytime-friendly smokey eye.
ReplyDeleteOooh - the gray one looks so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love to wear Sand Glow with Khaki. Amethyst looks so lovely on you, but it pulls a super-shimmery lilac on me, very unattractive! I'm going to have to try grey pearl in person.
ReplyDeleteFunny that you should write of these two colors today. I purchased the Gray Pearl last weekend and the Sandglow two weeks before. I just love this product and have enabled friends to collect them as well.
ReplyDeleteI like the Sandglow with the Khaki and the Gray Pearl with the Plum. They are light and durable.
LM is on a roll. The Nouveau Rouge lipsticks are also fabulous!
I do think I need Grey Pearl! It looks like such an easy color to wear.
ReplyDeleteHah! I'm wearing Sandglow today. I just needed something fast, subtle and lasting and this fit the bill. I purchased this with Amethyst, and I've been kicking myself for getting two that are so close in color ( I can't tell which one I've pulled out unless I look at it in comparison to the other one). Anyway, I've been hearing about a comparable product being introduced by Revlon, so I'm very eager to check that out.
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing my Sandglow today. Sandglow is a neutral color against my chocolate skin and I've worn it regularly since purchasing it in February. I swatched plum and amethyst yesterday during my lunchtime jaunt. Beautiful. I'm trying not to go back to Sephora to purchase both of them, but I think its a losing battle....
