The Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod scent from Molton Brown is among my favorites for bath and body (I just realized I never actually reviewed the shower gel. I'll have to do it soon). It's a delicious composition of bright and dark: fiery pepper, incense, and patchouli. Based on that, I thought the candle would be a brilliant way to scent the home.
To my surprise, Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod candle gives a light and almost sheer scent that's less spicy and incensy than what the unlit candle smells like up close. There's nothing wrong with that, especially in the summer, it was just less true to the other Molton Brown products in this range. I actually like it as it si very much: the scent the candle created in the house was almost a woody floral with just a touch of the familiar Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod spice.
The throw of this Molton Brown candle is more suited for a large room than for an entire house. It gets lost in a large open space, but is balanced and not overpowering if you place it in the kitchen or a guest room. Burn time is decent, it depletes evenly and never creates extra smoke.
Notes: pink pepper, tangerine, labdanum, black pepper, oakmoss, rich patchouli.
Bottom Line: Hopefully they'll release the 3 wick version at some point.
Molton Brown- Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod Single Wick Candle ($49, 6.3oz) is available frm select department stores, beauty.com and moltonbrown.com.
