During the last season of Project Runway I was firmly on Team Patricia. I loved the fabric art she created, the new textures and the innovation. Designer Patricia Michaels managed to surprise me every week with something I've never seen before; in a world where fashion keeps regurgitating itself, Patricia's originality and independence stood out like no other. Of course, this also meant that I was in a constant mood to smack Nina Garcia with a shoe.
The Eagle Feather Scarf was presented in Patricia Michaels's final collection. It's hand painted on delicate silk organza and comes in three colors: black, golden bronze and blue water ($255 each). Honestly, I would have loved to have all three for summer. There's something about these scarves, like in all of Patricia's designs, that feels alive and optimistic. I guess it's a reflection of the designer herself.
Patricia Michaels is launching her own design house, PM Waterlily (www.patriciamichaelsfashion.com . You can also look her up on Facebook- PatriciaMichaelsPmWaterlily). The scarves and a few other items are already available for purchase online. I can't wait to see what else she creates.

Although I don't share Patricia's style sense or esthetic, I was one of her fans on Project Runway because she presented such an unusual vision. The feather scarf was simple and organic, yet sophisticated. I loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this! I loved Patricia on PR (looking forward to the reunion show tonight) and didn't realize she was launching her own line. I'm a scarf addict and am going to need one of those. Also just went to her site and am definitely lemming that skirt on the home page.
