You know that I had to get the new Dior Jelly Lip Pen from their Bird Of Paradise Summer 2013 Collection: it's called Gaia. I was happy that Dior Gaia (#656) was the rose colored one (the others are bright pink, orange and beige) and hoped to find a new love.
Dior Jelly Lip Pen is not a pen. It's a chubby pencil or a lip crayon. The other part of the name is true: it has a jelly texture that works as a lip balm. The pencil is very sheer; it's not about the pigment, and since my lips are naturally dark I don't get much (or any) color. As a lip balm, though, this is a great concept: portable and mess-free. The pencil twists up, so you don't need to sharpen it. It also performs nicely in imparting hydrating and shine, though it doesn't help much in acute situation when you need the heavy duty stuff.
Bottom Line: I wish it had more pigment.
Dior Gaia Jelly Lip Pen for Summer 2013 ($26) is available at the counters.
I picked up the beige one (copacabana - the name made me laugh) and I really like how it feels on. I'm with you on wanting a bit more pigment but at least there's some shine & it's easy to swipe on and not look messy.
