Laura Mercier eyeliners have always been popular, especially the ones in cake form . The kohl eye pencils are also excellent as they feature complex and sophisticated shades that enliven the brand's famous neutral eye shadows. Now Laura Mercier has joined many other brands and offers a cream eyeliner in a glass jar. It comes in six shades- the usual suspects as well as a couple of variations on bright blue.
I chose Espresso, a deep and rich chocolaty brown, and Canard that is more of a peacock blue than duck feathers. Both are incredibly creamy with a smooth finish that's completely non-shimmery. It's a true cream texture with the pliability of a gel. The result on the lid is intense, opaque and very pretty. The eyeliners are perfect for creating a very graphic look as well as for an office-friendly thin line. I've tightlined with them with no ill effect, and also lined between the lower lashes.
The formula of Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner is waterproof, smudge-proof and cat licking-proof. The cream sets within seconds and will not budge until you soak your lids with a good eye makeup remover (don't even think of wipes). A good soaking is essential to avoid pulling, tugging and rubbing.
These cream eyeliners were released by Laura Mercier along with a new brush (a bent handle one). I didn't buy it since I have more than enough eyeliner brushes. I find that the Crème Eye Liners work with any brush- from the very thin and precise to wider filbert, flat angled and short round edged of the kind I like for tightlining.
Bottom Line: Excellent.
Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner ($22 each) is available at the counters and from lauramercier.com.
Good to hear -- I'm looking for a good brown liner. Any idea how long they last before drying out?
ReplyDeleteThanks,

I have some of these liners from two or three years ago. Keep the lids on tight, and they will last a long time.
DeleteI saw these in person the other day and they were gorgeous! I think they will make a nice addition to the rotation right along with LM's Caviar stick in Coco with Lagoon Baked Shadow.
ReplyDeleteWow! Its very awesome that it is available in six shades. I want to know that this cream eyeliner is fine in summer season?
