Givenchy really knocked it out of the park with their new line, Le Rouge lipsticks. It's another proof that when it comes to makeup textures there's a constant improvement and we should move on as our favorite brands ditch the old as they introduce new products. Givenchy Le Rouge is a Lipstick with a capital L. The semi matte finish doesn't look or feel dry. On the contrary- it's light and comfortable. As long as one's lips are in good shape with no visible flakes or cracks, the lipstick glides on smoothly and looks pretty.
Longevity is excellent. Givenchy Le Rouge might not be an 8 hour lipstick, but it leaves an even stain and doesn't flake or smear after a drink or a snack. which brings us to the joy of refreshing: the packaging is fantastic: heavy and elegant with a (genuine) leather cover.
Givenchy Le Rouge 306 in Carmin Escarpin is a warm poppy red (official description that's spot on). It offers an almost opaque coverage with one coat and movie star perfection if you apply two layers with a brush (highly recommended). I don't know why Givenchy doesn't offer a matching lip liner. I'd buy one on the spot.
Bottom Line: Gorgeous.
Givenchy Le Rouge 306 Carmin Escarpin Lipstick ($36) is exclusive to Sephora. available in store and online.
I was hesitant about Givenchy, I haven't been impressed by their lipsticks but I thought I would try this and about #307 Grenat Initie. Gorgeous color and was very pleasantly surprised about how it went on and didn't dry my lips. Definitely worth having one of this line at least.
ReplyDeleteEvelyn, could you please tell me if Grenat Initie is a warm, or cool based color?
DeleteThat is a gorgeous red. Must try this!
ReplyDeleteLike I need another red...but I want this!
ReplyDeleteI own one from this line too, and I loved it!
