Actress Jeanne Moreau is 85 today. Her iconic roles in French New Wave movies have defined a style and a generation. Critic Ginette Vincindeau has described this as, "beautiful, but in a kind of natural way; sexy, but intellectual at the same time, a kind of cerebral sexuality, — this was the hallmark of the nouvelle vague woman.". Not a bad role model.

ReplyDeleteThe platinum blonde shots are from La Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels in English) a film about a gambling addict. Yes, there is no one like Moreau; I have seen probably every film she has made, bar one or two that I cannot find. This one is readily available for viewing.
