The color of Becca Beach Tint in Raspberry looks downright scary when you squeeze it out of the tube. The vivid berry hue appears intense and unnatural when it first meets one's cheek, but the second you start blending this Beach Tint it becomes sheer and almost disappears into the skin, leaving just a hint of a color. While Raspberry is more than a little purple the result is not necessarily the most natural. It is pretty, though, and works with many winter looks for the Snow White effect.
The texture of this Becca cheek and lip products is of a runny liquid. There's no shimmer and the finish is completely natural: it doesn't look like makeup. While I don't like the dry feeling of Becca Beach Tints leave on my lips, I do recommend mixing Raspberry with a lip balm: use as much or as little as you want for the desired color intensity.
Since this tint sheers to almost nothing, I find that you need a well-prepped cheek if you want the color to stick and last throughout the day. You can also mix Raspberry (or other Becca Beach Tints) with a drop of foundation/tinted moisturizer, apply to the apple of the cheeks and blend into the rest of your face makeup. This ensures longevity and hold. The Beach Tint is easiest to apply with your fingers, but when mixed with another product I prefer to use a buffing brush for a smooth and even result.
Bottom Line: quick and easy.
Becca Beach Tint ($25) is available from Sephora.
I always wonder if these Beach Tints are actually worth it - it seems like it may take some effort to apply. But Raspberry seems like it might actually be worth it - I love the idea of this shade on the cheeks AND lips at the same time with loads of mascara.
