I'm very fortunate this year to celebrate my birthday surrounded by my family. Nothing compares to having my four year old niece sing me birthday songs and get all excited about it. My wish is that your day will be as happy as mine. Wear something fun and eat a cake!

Felice Navidad, Gaia! Back in the day, on the day before my birthday, mom would take the highchair outside (deep south) and start giving me a permanent so my hair would be nice and curly for my birthday party. And it always was. She washed the 'stuff' off with the hose, and my dog circled from afar because of the awful smell, and howled to the gods for someone to come save me. In the permanent box were some paper dolls, I think they were 'Betsy McCalls.' to keep me occupied during the torture with those awful 'rods.' But, I always had a wonderful birthday party under the weeping willows, complete with pin the tail on the donkey, crystal baskets with peanuts and mints and non-pariels. I was shy, looking down when the birthday song was sung, but laughed and played all the live long day. Hope your niece enjoys your birthday very very much!
