NARS Andy Warhol Portrait Palette 3- Silver Factory Collection For Holiday 2012
I've procrastinated on swatching my NARS Andy Warhol Portrait Palette 3 from their Holiday 2012 Silver Factory Collection because I've been reluctant to mess up the striking image. The Portrait palettes all have an overspray that creates the print effect: in this case it's the second color from the right that disappears when you use the eye shadows. But I'm also a firm believer that makeup is meant to be worn, and this is a brilliant example of a great NARS color combination; so I've been itching to start playing with it.
NARS Andy Warhol Portrait Palette #3 offers three shades: a cornflower blue, a red clay (both with a satin finish), and a sparkly dark brown. The latter has a bit of fallout, as you'll see if you click the swatch photo for a closeup, but it's worth the cleanup in my opinion, because the shade works beautifully to enhance the other two. These eye shadows look best over a good base. They apply and blend easily (I got the best results when using a dense brush), and have a retro charm when used together (it's the blue).
Bottom Line: Irresistible.
NARS Andy Warhol Portrait Palette 3 ($55) and the rest of the Silver Factory Collection For Holiday 2012 will be available at department stores and from narscosmetics.com starting November 1st. The product for this review was provided by the company's PR.
Hi Gaia, I can't wait for these to come out; I do think I prefer the portrait palettes to the flowers for both aesthetic appearance as well as color selection.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue color, it looks the perfect mix of blueish purple/grey. I must try this on skin when it comes out!
