Those of us who live in the NYC metro area have a constant reminder on our horizon. It's taken more than a decade to fill some of the physical void in the skyline; but just like us, it will never be the same.

Thanks for this, Gaia - and you're right.
ReplyDeleteGaia, I'm with you and all New Yorkers. I'm glad we have a cloudy and rainy day here in Cologne because a perfect blue sky on 9/11 always reminds me of these horrible events. I love NYC dearly and it broke my heart.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathieswho all to suffered injuries, to all who may have become ill for trying to help in the aftermath, and to all who lost family friends or neighbors. (The latter group includes nearly every body who was living in the many parts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut).
ReplyDeleteMy thanks go out to the Flight Attendant from Boston who called a warning to the FAA before her plane crashed, to the brave people on the flight from Newark, who probably saved the U.S. capital. My thanks go out to all those who have served overseas and protected us since them.
Yesterday, the 11th anniversary of 9/11, the weather was a spot-on duplicate of the weather on that horrendous day. It, to me, was an end to our naive belief that we were safe on our own shores. My hope for the universe is that we can all live in harmony and peace, hopefully in my lifetime. I want my three adorable granddaughters to grow up without fear and with hope for their future.
