Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel
Decades before the devil wore Prada and edited the September Issue there was Diana Vreeland. Her thumbprint was on many of the fashion and beauty images of the 20th century. As editor (Harper's Bazaar and Vogue) and consultant for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Vreeland shaped and inspired people's perception of fashion, beauty, art, publishing and culture. The new movie (coming out September 21st) Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel (directed and produced by Lisa Immordino Vreeland) is supposed to be an intimate portrait of this super diva. Intimate or not, I'm highly interested. Have a look at the official trailer:

ReplyDeleteThis is great, sadly it probably won't make it to my neck of the woods. Many years ago I read somewhere that her favorite perfume was Chanel Cuir de Russie, and she would have it pumped into the air during the annual Met Costume Institute Gala.
ReplyDeleteThis is so fantastic!! I must see this movie!! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI SO want to see this! However, I may have to go through my entire Rolodex to find someone who will take me. I doubt if it will come to my small academic village, but it might come to Cleveland's Cedar-Lee theater, or to one in Pittsburgh.
ReplyDeleteLawrence in Ohio
