Claudio Riaz Lip & Cheek is a multitasking product: it's somehwere between a cream blush and a cheek stain (closer to the latter) and also a lipstick in a pot/lip stain (ditto). I guess it's what used to be known as "rouge" in days of yore, and No. 9 definitely has that kind of vibe.
This Claudio Riaz creamy product is very pigmented but can be sheered into a gentle wash of color. It's easy to apply with fingers if you're so inclined, but I prefer a flat lip brush and a dense cheek brush (Hakuhodo 210 and even the tiny 212). The texture is interesting: it's not greasy at all yet has some slip. When applied to the lips it sit nicely without migrating; the formula is not moisturizing at all but doesn't dry my lips if they've been properly pampered and hydrated. I've experimented by mixing Lip & Cheek with a balm with decent results, but an easier way is to apply a thin layer and top it with a good gloss.
Claudio Riaz Lip & Cheek 9 is a rich reddish rose color. It's a little bit retro but I find it very wearable and flattering. Since you can adjust the intensity, it will work for many skin tones.
Bottom Line: Very (very!) nice.
Claudio Riaz Lip & Cheek ($38) is exclusive to Barneys and claudioriaz.com.
