WWD brings us the scoop about the most exciting foundation release possible: YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat. I'm a huge fan of the Touche Eclat highlighting pen because it helps make my deeply sunken eyes look a bit more human. Touche Eclat which was first released 20 years ago (and as far as I can tell has been gradually adjust and improved over the years) is reputed to be such a best seller that one is sold every 10 seconds somewhere in the world. So, yes, YSL is definitely gearing up for a major hit.
The formula was in development for 10 years (!) until the lab achieved the desired combination of "natural-looking yet sophisticated, dewy and luminous complexion" (according to YSL executives quoted in WWD. Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation will come in 22 shades. The 30 ml bottle of Le Teint is priced at $55 in the U.S. and 42.60 euros, and is slated for prelaunch on June 28 exclusively in Selfridges, London and Brown Thomas in Dublin. The rest of the UK will see the foundation on July 9th, while here in the U.S. the product is expected by the end of July.
It's not that there's a shortage of great foundations, but this sounds fabulous and I love a dewy and luminous finish in face products. are you excited or is it just me?

I m so excited abt this foundation! I ll definitely ask for a sample when it comes to sephora!:-)
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I've never used foundation (just sunscreen, always), but I love Touche Eclat so much I will try this! ~~nozknoz
ReplyDeleteI do not need another foundation, but I am intrigued by this one. I am excited to check it out this summer!
ReplyDeleteI first heard about this foundation from Charlestongirl, and I definitely have my eye on it. There's nothing I fear more than a matte face.
ReplyDeletecool - and brown thomas is a 5 mins walk away from where I work!
ReplyDeleteI must have this in my life...
ReplyDeleteI am not normally tempted by foundation, but given my adoration of Touche Eclat, I am definitely going to try this. I can't wait! Thanks so much for the good word.
ReplyDeleteI hope the foundation will be pale enough for me.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for this! Like Roberta I hope it is pale enough but from what I've heards YSL does usually have quite fair shades so I'm hopefull.
ReplyDeleteIn the frustrating and confusing throes of Perfect Foundation Once and For All, and here you come along with this delicious news!! Many thanks, cannot wait (am an especial Fan of YSL, as it happens), and feel very very hopeful about this. Kudos, Gaia. xo Beth in Pgh ;-)
ReplyDeleteI want!!!
ReplyDeleteI want too! I am not a foundation junkie, I find one I like that works for me and I use it until something tempts me to venture (usually when I am just about out!) I have been using Edward Bess, and it works wonderfully for me. I am curious about Guerlain's Compact Foundation (don't know the name, but it has the concealer in the compact) and bought that, but have not used it as yet! Now, this YSL sounds wonderful, and Gaia when you are excited, I get excited, although our coloring is different and probably we are drawn to different shades of various products. Right now I am seriously into Mr.Bess, as the colors are very natural and not glitzy. Highly shimmery products are very, very aging to the 'aged'! Most definitely by July I will be toward the bottom of the compact, either Mr. Bess' or the Guerlain, and will look for this!
ReplyDeleteWow. If it's half as good as Touche Eclat, it will sell out immediately. So glad they're doing this! I'm hoping it will live up to expectations, and that I'm able to try it early on. I just now finally purchased my first GA Luminous Silk...I'm usually a bit behind the curve on foundations. This one might make me change my ways.
ReplyDelete'The rest of the UK' implies that Dublin is part of the UK - it is actually in a separate country called 'Ireland'. I'm sorry if this post comes across as rude but I'm Irish and it bugs me when people assume we are part of the UK when we are not. Love your blog and this is my first comment - promise to remain 'on topic' in future! :)
