Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer (Natural)

Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer is so creamy that I wonder how it maintains its solid stick form. Usually stick concealers are at least somewhat dry, so I don't let them anywhere near my eye area. In this case, though, as long as I do a meticulous job in moisturizing and priming, Hourglass concealer can be used anywhere on my face; I still prefer cream and liquid highlighter/concealer type products under my eyes, but it's more because of my bone structure: my eyes are deeply sunken so it's less about concealing the area as it is about brightening it.

As far as blemishes and discolorations go, Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer does an excellent job making them disappear. It has a healthy skin texture that melts and melds with my face. It can be applied diredctly from the stick and then blended with a thick brush (Trish McEvoy The Point), or picked with a slimmer concealer brush and be dotted on as needed.  Since Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer is so smooth and creamy, it has more slip than average. This means that you have to make sure to start with a good base that will trap it in place and use a setting powder (my favorite for the task is Laura Mercier).

My shade match is Natural, which you can see is yellow-based. The skin of my inner wrist is more transparent and probably not as warm as my face, but you can see it blends easily and naturally. You can also get an idea of the texture and the creamy finish in the swatch, but feeling is believing.

Bottom Line: Hall Of Fame.

Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer ($32) is available from Barneys, Sephora and Bergdorf Goodman. The product was sent for my consideration by the company.

  1. I picked this up from Sephora about year ago on a whim and have not stopped using it since. It's fabulous! And the Ivory shade is pale enough for me, which is a rarity.
