Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in BL711 Angel is irresistibly blue. I think Sephora labeled it "peacock blue", but it's a tad darker and bluer than that to my eye. In any case, the color is hypnotic, rich and also a bit scary.
BL711 Angel is actually easier to wear than it seems. Like all Shiseido cream shadows the smooth texture is easy to blend and you can use as much or as little as you'd like. You can work a hint of this gorgeous blue into a neutral base (either another Shiseido cream or something with less shimmer like Bobbi Brown or Ellis Faas). It can be used close to the lash line or as a sheer wash of color, applied with finger or brush- anything goes, really.
Like other Shiseido cream shadows I tested, BL711 Angel doesn't crease or flake. The finish is more metallic than what I get from Sable, but the texture looks and feels the same.
Bottom Line: in the immortal words of Ms. Spears: " Give me more!".
Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color ($25) is available at the counters and from Sephora (the latter is online only).
A pretty colour in the pot; but not for me I am afraid. I am blue-eyed and it looks cheap on us.
ReplyDeleteBlues are not as easy to wear as greens with yellow-olive complexion - it's easy to go overboard. But I experimented with mixing Angel and Tin as a liner a couple of weeks ago, to very satisfactory effect. I much prefer the texture of these cream shadows to the Chanel Illusion d'Ombre, or the Armani ETK. It's lighter and more creamy to work with, and doesn't dry as quickly. I love seeing them spotlighted on your blog!
