These two Lancome L'Absolou Rouge lipsticks in Perfect Fig and Exotic Orchid were gifts with various purchases (as you can see from the packaging. The retail version comes in the regular and more angular Lancome case). I consider them a fabulous gift as these colors are flattering and versatile. I'm quite fond of the L'absolu Rouge formula as it's comfortable and never drying, making the lipsticks of this range a purse-staple.
Exotic Orchid has some micro-shimmer (far less obvious on the lips than on the arm thanks to lips natural texture). It's a low-key berry, almost neutral since my lips are naturally dark. Perfect Fig is a rosewood kind of color, or a brown-based plum as the Lancome website calls it. I wear it when I need to warm up my look a little. It's an almost nude color for me, quite practical with dramatic and/or blue-based eye makeup.
The lasting time is average. The lipstick fades more than flakes and stays put through a lot of abuse if applied evenly with a brush on top of a good lip liner (Edward Bess offers one that goes with everything. I'm on my second one by now). Lancome lipsticks are scented and sometimes I feel like they use Tresor for this purpose; at least the smell fades quickly (I've had these two for months and can barely smell it by now).
Lancome L'Absolou Rouge lipsticks ($29 each) are available at the counters and from lancome-usa.com. As I said above, the ones you see here were a GWP.
I've had a number of GWP lipsticks from Lancome over the years (and by years you may read decades!) and I think they excel in choosing very flattering and wearable colours for these GWP sets. I like the look of both of these colours.
ReplyDeleteI like the Absolu Rouge lipsticks in general. I wonder if the Exotic Orchid would do for a very fair-skinned person like myself. It is lovely on my monitor.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWhat color is the Edward Bess lip liner you referenced here? It sounds like a good one to add to my collection. Thanks!
