I'm not the only one obsessed with red coats. Kate Middleton, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge for us commoners, wore a red L. K. Bennett wool/nylon blend coat today for her visit to the UNICEF Emergency Supply Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. Kate and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge visited the place to view efforts to distribute emergency food and medical supplies to eastern Africa.
Catherine has replaced the L. K. Bennett self-belt with a bolder one, a Veccelli Italy belt, according to the Facebook page of Susan Kelly's What Kate Wore website. I liked the original look of the coat, but there's definitely something to be said for spiking it up when you're a pretty princess.
Kate and William got to hang out with Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and his wife, Princess Mary. Browing through photos of the event, it looks like the two royal couples got along swimmingly. I wonder what they talked about away from the microphones.
Back to the red coat, the L. K. Bennett sold out quickly (black and camel are still available), but it seems like John Lewis still have some in stock and they even ship internationally, just so you know.

I must go buy a red coat now! She looks fabulous and makes the lovely and usually fashionable princess of Denmark fade into the background.
ReplyDeleteI like Princess Catherine's style, it will be interesting to see how it develops over time. Lovely girl.
ReplyDeleteIf I were that size, that would be my coat! :-)
ReplyDeleteKate is not Diana. Well that's good for her. She should have her own identity. The two should not be compared. Kate looks stunning in that red coat.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I cannot wear red.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or do the two princesses look almost like sisters in a couple of those photos? Before I got down to the text, I was trying to figure out how they were related.
ReplyDeleteThey probably talked about kids. Or the weather. Pingo (as we call Frederik) is a very down to earth kind of guy. His wife just spend our tax money on shoes.
ReplyDeleteWhile a great coat, the color is just to 'happy' for such a relatively sombre occasion, no? I do think that sometimes Kate dresses too inappropriately upbeat for the occasion (recalling the mock-police costume she wore on post-riot inspection).
