Le Métier de Beauté Jade True Color Eye Shadow

Today's color is green.

Le Métier de Beauté offers a wonderful approach to color. None are off-limits, it's just a question of responsible application and pairing with compatible shades. Thus, a green eye shadow is not a bold  fashion statement but a pretty color that simply looks lovely.

Jade is a medium green, not as intense as it appears in the pan unless you really pack it on (it's very easy to built the Le Métier de Beauté eye shadows). It's a smooth and elegant shimmery wash of color that can be
used in the crease, lid or layered over (or under) other Le Metier shades- try it with Jojo, for example.

You can see how Jade compares to Black Emerald from the brilliant Penelope Kaleidoscope. The names of the eye shadows are perfectly descriptive in this case, as Black Emerald is a blackened rich green while Jade is... well, jade-ish. Jade is cooler than the top green color from the  Emerald Isle Kaleidoscope but can definitely be used with the palette's color. The texture is Le Metier's fabulous satin formula- smooth and gossamer-like, requires minimal blending and gives a very luxurious finish.

Bottom Line: try even if you're afraid of green.

Le Métier de Beauté True Color Eye Shadow ($30) can be found at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and select Nordstrom locations.

  1. I wish I could try, but green eyeshadow hates me. It's not that it doesn't complement my eye color but that it draws the red out of my entire face. And I thought they used green-tinted stuff to ameliorate redness. Hrumph. That Black Emerald, though ... *drool*

  2. Gorgeous! I find it interesting that real jade has so many iterations of color, some of which is quite pale, however jade in makeup often takes a richer greener guise.
