Laura Mercier is famous for many things, but her mascara is not necessarily one of them. That's why I was surprised with her Long Lash Mascara. Now, if you've been reading this blog for a while you might remember that I don't need too much help in the lash department, but curling (and holding the curl), separating and generally enhancing mascaras certainly make a difference. Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara has turned out to be a good one.
The thin and delicate brush and light(ish) formula coat the lashes very evenly, so they're not weighted down. As a result, the lift I get from my favorite eyelash curlers (Kevyn Aucoin and LMdB) is there to stay for long hours. Thanks to its delicate brush, this Laura Mercier mascara is also quite good at keeping the lashes separated, hence a longer appearance.
The black color is rich and noticeable. It's not glossy or dramatic in any way, which goes well with Laura Mercier's beauty philosophy of concentrating on a pretty but not exaggerated improvements.
Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara ($24) is available at the counters and from lauramercier.com. I got a couple of them as part of various seasonal kits.

I have never tried their mascara except for the original formula, which did not really work for me. This is something to look into.
