Chanel Rose Ecrin Joues Contraste Blush Fall 2011
Rose Ecrin is the complete opposite of the other Chanel blush for the season, Joues Contraste Rouge. Rose Ecrin is the new fall release but it joins the permanent line, which is a very good thing as it's the kind of color one would find herself using again and again (and again). Add to that the possible need to build up the color and intensity and you get a blush that normal people who actually hit pan on a semi-regular basis would need to repurchase.
Rose Ecrin is utterly lovely. It's a natural medium rose shade (no, really), with the luminous texture that made Chanel Joues Contraste line such a staple for many a makeup lover. Not completely matte so the blush is never chalky yet not shimmery or shiny in any way. The intensity is what you see, so I've been applying Rose Ecrin with no fear of overdoing it. I use a semi-dense and somewhat firm brush (Shu Uemura 20, 20H or Hakuhodo 210) that picks up all the color I need for one cheek. I'm around NC35, so if you're a little darker than me you might want to build it up a little, and if you're over NC40 this might not be the right blush for you. So test before buying.
Bottom Line: as pretty as it gets.
Chanel Rose Ecrin Joues Contraste Blush ($43) is available at the counters and from chanel.com.
