Bobbi Brown Shore & Burnished Long-Wear Cream Shadow
With all the excitement over the high glam of fall collections it's easy to forget we're still in the middle of summer and have plenty of easy summer looks to enjoy. Take for example a chic "Le Nude" look that takes one or two brushes, two Bobbi Brown cream eye shadows and very little time or effort. It's all about the supreme texture and perfect colors of Shore (35) and Burnished (06), two shades from Bobbi Brown's permanent line of Long-Wear Cream Shadow.
Shore is a nude beige. It matches my eyelids and makes a great canvas for other colors or just a smooth and even all-over color. I apply it from the crease to the eye brow with Shu Uemura #10 synthetic brush (note to self: get one or two more no. 10s. My one and only has been working overtime). With the same brush I add Burnished, a low-key bronze brown to the lid and blend it until just above the crease. Tightline with a not-quite-black (Bobbi Brown's gel liner in Caviar Ink), curl lashes and apply mascara. All done.
I always start with an eye primer and have found that Bobbi Brown's cream eye shadows play extra well with Paula Dorf's base. The smooth texture and finish are nothing short of beautiful; Shore is a cream/matte while Burnished has a subtle shimmer (not metallic). They don't crease or budge and stay in place all day. The end result is pretty and fresh, you look bright-eyed and ready for some killer red lipstick.
Bottom Line: morning in Paris.
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadows ($22 each) are available at the counters and from bobbibrowncosmetics.com.

I've got both and totally agree with your observations.
ReplyDeleteLove Burnished! My evening glam eye (keep in mind I like it light lol). I use Cement for everyday. Apply all of Bobbi Brown's cream shadows with *gasp* my fingers. I have her brush for cream shadow but tend to use it to smudge eyeshadow and liner together.
ReplyDeleteTell me, how do you tightline her cream liner?
I wish I could compare this to my new RMS cream liner... I might have to go swatch and compare. Have you tried in RMS?
ReplyDeleteI also own both Shore and Burnished. Shore is a tad warm for me (Cement is a better match), but Burnished is summery bronzed goodness. I had not thought of applying a cream-based shadow over PD Eye Primer, but now that you mention it, it makes perfect sense given the complementary textures. Thanks for doing the research!
