Rouge Bunny Rouge Quartz Eyeliner Devotion Ink- Tiger Eye
The color and finish of Rouge Bunny Rouge Quartz Eyeliner Devotion Ink in Tiger Eye is pure glamour. It's a sheer not-quite-black infused with gold and copper, making the color change as light hits it and appear anywhere from red gold on a black base to metallic greenish khaki. When applied in a thick line the complex shade makes it look modern and far less retro than an all-black heavy cat eye might be.
The formula of Rouge Bunny Rouge Quartz Eyeliner Devotion Ink dries in less than a minute. Once set it stays in place and doesn't flake or fade until you actively remove it. The felt pen-like applicator is on the thick side, which makes sense as the whole point of Tiger Eye is to show its full effect and the sparkle it gives your look. If I'm going for a more subtle look appropriate for a summer day I prefer to use a regular thin eyeliner brush and pick the color off the applicator.
To get the most dramatic look possible it is best to first apply a rich black eyeliner pencil (Armani or YSL waterproof) and top it with this Rouge Bunny Rouge Quartz Devotion Ink. Since Tiger Eye's black base is a bit diluted, it lets the deep black of the base shine through and add the complexity of its metallic finish. One thing I found to not work so well is applying the Rouge Bunny Rouge liner over a powder eye shadow base. The textures don't agree with each other and the liquid liner loses both its intensity and smooth texture.
Bottom Line: fun.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Quartz Eyeliner Devotion Ink ($28) is available from BeautyHabit and Rougebunnyrouge.com.

*sigh* Why did I read this? The color does, indeed, look stunning.
ReplyDeleteWould you say the brush is long and floppy or is it on the firm side?
That looks gorgeous. Sounds a little difficult to work with but maybe worth the effort!
ReplyDeleteZP, it's an applicator, not a brush, and is a little floppier than the similar one in Makeup For Ever new eyeliners.
ReplyDeleteC., it takes a little work, I agree. It's so pretty, though.
