NARS Dolce Vita Blush
NARS Dolce Vita blush is another of those "had forever, forgot to blog about" makeup items. It's a classic from the permanent collection, has a matte finish and a very soft (almost crumbly) texture and all the pigment in the world. Seriously, this one from NARS is not for the heavy-handed and requires a good brush (or two: I prefer to apply Dolce Vita with a small or medium Yachio brush from Hakuhodo and then blend it with a regular face brush).
Done right and thoroughly sheered and blended, NARS Dolce Vita blush is a gorgeous warm rose with a somewhat red base that actually looks healthy and natural (remember that I'm truly olive and around NC30-35 though I have no true match in either MAC or NARS foundations). I just checked and the NARS website describes Dolce Vita as "dusty rose". Take my word for it: there's nothing dusty about this vibrant color, but it's gorgeous nonetheless.
Bottom Line: A summer staple.
NARS Dolce Vita Blush ($27) is available at the countes, Sephora and narscosmetics.com.

Here's another blush I need. NARS blushes are hands down my favorite blushes of all time. I seem to collect them like stamps, if I had a stamp collection. Well, you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteWow really pretty shade! It's like a soft rosey peach.. And I'm a sucker for peaches! Can't get enought of them =P
ReplyDeleteThat looks stunning in the pan! I want to pick up a NARS blush too.
ReplyDeleteLexi, I have several favorite blushes but certainly agree there's something about NARS that makes one want to have as many as possible (and then obsessively arrange them and look at them lovingly...).
ReplyDeleteDS, it definitely has some peachiness. Dolce Vita is quite a complex color, which is a huge part of why it looks so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHDtM, I highly recommend. The line has something for everyone.
ReplyDeleteMmm, now this blush I own and love. It's the perfect natural blush for me. I wore it and my husband couldn't tell I even had blush on. Sometimes he can, but not with Dolce Vita.
ReplyDeletegorgeous! this and lmdb chameleon are my next resistance-testers :D
ReplyDeleteoooh it looks gorgeous on your arm swatch! gotta troop down to the NARS counter this weekend! woot! :P
ReplyDeleteThis is the first Nars blush I really love. It seems to go with everything.
ReplyDeleteI love Dolce Vita lip gloss and like you, keep forgetting about the blush! Will have to take a look see next time I'm in Sephora--but you sure make it sound like a must-have!
ReplyDeleteJC, on my skin it's more of an almost natural bright. My complexion is too green to blush this beautifully on its own...
ReplyDeleteXiao, sometimes resistance is futile ;) .
ReplyDeleteCoffretgorge, any reason to visit the NARS counter is a good one in my book. I still need a few more eye shadows...
ReplyDeleteLiz, with right application this is really an easy, go-everywhere blush. It's such a great summer color.
ReplyDeleteCindy, to me, there are three must-have NARS blushes: this one, Sin and Douceur.
