Here's something for lovers of golden greenish khaki eye shadows. I bought Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon True Color Eye Shadow last year, so I'm not sure why it's taken this long to review it, but here it is in all its subtle glory.
Le Metier de Beaute offers three eye shadow finishes: matte, satin and shimmer. All of them are beautiful, smooth and extremely finely milled, so they apply as perfectly as possible even by the shakiest of hands and even the most minimal blending gives professional results. I'm not sure I can pick a favorite among the three finishes, but perhaps the satin is the one that displays Le Metier's supreme quality the most clearly. The glowy sheen you see in Chameleon is never too much. I find it very flattering as I use it in the crease or outer V, combined with neutral colors (try it over a Bobbi Brown cream shadow or Edward Bess Nude).
Bottom Line: yes, please.
Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon True Color Eye Shadow ($30) is available from Bergdorf Goodman, select Neiman Marcus and nordstrom.com.

Great review. Chameleon has come up in comments on other blogs, where we've been comparing it to Edward Bess Intimate and Rouge Bunny Rouge Abyssinian Catbird. Chameleon looks almost like it could be the color of absinthe.
ReplyDeleteLovely review. I have Chameleon, EB Intimate and RBR Abysssinian Catbird is on the way so I can do a comparison when I post my review of Chameleon. I've had Chameleon for a while too and I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed it. I would say though from pics that the RBR is WAY more pigmented. Chameleon is on the sheer side but in a good way ;-) HTH
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I love the slight greenish cast of the gold!
ReplyDeleteI am sure I will eventually get this color, you can only say "no" to a beautiful Le Metier eye shadow for so long. :) Thanks for stoking the fires in the mean time.
ReplyDeleteDid someone say golden greenish khaki? I'm a big fan of khaki/neutrals or green shadows.
ReplyDeleteI love LMdB shadows, have several that I love (corinthian, Tuscan Sunset, Nutmeg & amethyst to name a few). One really can't go wrong with these incredibly versatile and high-quality shadows. Instant lemming!
ZP, I don't think Chameleon is anything like EB Intimate (thanks for reminding me to review it. I've had it for months). And also for reminding me to place a(nother) Zuneta order.
ReplyDeleteC., Chameleon has that ethereal quality of all LMdB satins. It has plenty of pigment, just not in a war paint way.
ReplyDeleteDovey, I'm a sucker for these kind of colors. Must have them all.
ReplyDeleteHDTM, I can't resist LMDB shadows. Just can't. Neutrals, bold colors- I love them all.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, you're so right. These shadows were love at very first sight. There's nothing like Corinthian.
