More details: It Pink 554 is a sheer reddish pink and a Sephora exclusive. Singulière 465 is a cool-toned pink. Obviously I didn't swatch these two, but you can see them (and a lot more) on Karla Sugar's blog.
The two lipsticks I'm giving away were sent to me by Dior's PR. I bought two other colors for my personal use.

And Deuxville is a great neutral "my lips but better" without a hint of pink. Perfect for a simple day look but equally at home if I do something wild for the eyes.

What an exciting giveaway. Thank you for giving readers a possible opportunity of trying out Dior. As someone who personally can't afford a lipstick this expensive (maybe one day!), I've mostly been sticking to MAC.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite lipstick is MAC's Girl About Town, followed closely by Candy Yum Yum or Hug Me. I love GAT because it was such a pleasant surprise; it looks boldly terrifying in the tube but when I put it on, it looked beautiful and wearable on my skintone. Candy Yum Yum is not so wearable unless toned down, but still pretty and fun. Hug Me, out of the three, is the most natural and wearable everyday color--easy to love.
Probably a bit boring, but for day my favorite lipstick is Paula Dorf's Breathless.

Wow, My favorite lipstick?? That is not easy to pick, but I would have to say Dior rouge #444. I don't wear it everyday, but when I want to make a statement, that's my go to lipstick.

Oh this is so hard to choose one baby! I think it has to be the weighty Guerlain Rouge G Gemma. Its a rosy mauve pink, that suits my pigmented lips but still brightens the face!

ReplyDeleteMy wife fell in love with Serge Lutens' lipstick #1 (Mise a Mort) some time ago. The price has so far prevented us from getting it. Instead, she has been having fun with the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine series. We got a sampler with various kinds when we bought some stuff at a Chanel boutique and she has been trying different ones. I tend to like the strong reds, but she feels some days just require pink.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite lipstick of all time has to be either MAC Viva Glam V, which is the perfect neutral pink, or Violetta, which is a screamingly loud purple. It's a color that I wear with very simple eye makeup as to not draw attention away from it, and requires very few touch-ups if applied carefully.

ReplyDeleteMy all time fave has to be Chanel Rouge Allure in Instinctive. It's a soft coral nude that brightens the face, can be worn with anything, isn't too loud or too soft. The Rouge Allure formula is divine and I really think every woman should have one!
My favorite lipstick is MAC's On Hold it is a beautiful reddish coral that is divine - almost my lips but better when it is on.

I've only just started wearing lipstick on a regular basis over the last year. (I'm 34!) I've found a Boots No. 7 formula that I love for "in a hurry" on-the-go application, but for serious, big, major love, lately I've been on a Burberry kick. I have been loving Burberry Lip Cover No. 22. The coverage is amazing and the packaging is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite lip product that I've ever owned was this strange Marcella Borghese compact I had when I was in high school. I got it as a gift. It looked like eye shadow and you applied it with a little brush. It was a beautiful deep red and had the most unique finish. Of course they don't make it anymore.

I'm not sure about my all-time fave. I'm pretty fickle. My fave of the moment is a tie between Lipstick Queen Natural and Burberry Rosewood.

Ah, picking a favorite lipstick is kind of like picking a favorite child, ha... if I had to choose one, it would probably be Laura Mercier's Stickgloss in Sugar Plum - it's the only one I have a back-up of. I have desert dry lips and the Stickglosses are my #1 favorite lipstick formula - (though the new Dior Addicts come close, I've collected two so far) I just wish they came in more colors!

I'm going to go with Nars Dolce Vita because it's the EXACT colour of my lips, and and it's smooth and somewhat moisturizing so it's perfect for low maintenance 'my lips but better' looks. But for drama, MAC Ruby Woo. Lasts through pretty much anything on me, and that makes me very happy indeed. To be fair though, I haven't tried many high-end lipsticks because my lips aren't my best feature. They're kind of thin and uneven, so they're not really the feature I tend to play up most often.

I still remember going to the counter at the downtown Barney's for a new tube and being told that it had been discontinued. It was the perfect low-key pink with enough brown to keep it from being garish and hard to wear. I still wish I had it!

I have just one favourite lisptick and it is Chanel's Coco Rouge in Teheran, a warm coraly pink. When I have first put it on, my face looked like lit from within. I presume that it is the result one would like to obtain when wearing a lipstick so I am sticking to it almost everyday. I just wonder what Coco Chanel was doing in Teheran that made Peter Philips name one of the lipsticks after the Iranian capital city?!

My favourite lipstick of all time is Three Custom Colour in "Warm Violet."
ReplyDeleteThe name is a bit misleading; there's no violet in this shade but it looks fantastic in photos; my lips but rosier, poutier, more luscious.
My favorite all time lipstick is Giorgio Armani Sheer no. 8. It's a transparent neon pink and it's perfect. It also comes in a simple, matte, black tube without any tacky logos and I love that.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite lipstick has to be Guerlain's Rouge g lipstick in Galante 09. I'm very close to finishing this lippie (a tremendous accomplishment). It can go on lightly or can be built up for fill on glam. I'm hesitant to repurchase because Guerlain does not offer refills for the gorgeous packaging (what a waste).
ReplyDeleteAmazing giveaway! My favourite, after much debate, is Illamasqua in Obey, the colour is so unique, you can build it up from a hint of light peach to a full on 60's nude-peach lip and I love that with my colouring I can sort of pull that off. :)

ReplyDeleteMy current favorite is the new Chanel RC Shine in Boy. I really didn't like it the first time I tested it (I didn't really think it showed up on me) but I tried it again and was hooked! Just the perfect natural glow for me. I'd love to try these too to see how they compare. It Pink is gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteMany years ago, I received a Lancome lipstick in Pinque Souffle in a gwp. At the time, I didn't wear pinks, so it got tossed in a drawer. A very long time later, I found it and tested it out and loved it--this turned me on to pinks, sadly, however, the color had been discontinued the previous year and was no where to be found. Nothing ever like it since.

I can't resist looking at lipsticks in hiugh end department stores to Drug stores . Well , my favorite lipstick could be one of 3:Chanel- RosePlum, Chanel Metal Garnet or Clinique Fresh Strawberry. The best lipgloss of all time was Dior's natural and or Cerise clear lipgloss. Was it beautifully scented. All of these are D/C'd.

Can't remember the name of the line (it's discontinued), but it was one of those long-lasting types, nude pink/beige that was a good color on me. Now I'm using Clinique, but Avon's was the one shade I bought over and over.
