I often have a hard time starting a review of a Tauer perfume. Andy Tauer's creations speak to me on such an emotional and personal level that makes it difficult to talk about notes and development. I feel these perfumes and live in them more than I wear the scents.
Zeta, the newest perfume to join the Tauer collection is summer. An ideal and picturesque one-- full of soft light and gossamer air that carries the scents of delicate white blossoms, cold water with thin slices of lemons and oranges floating in them, crisp vintage white linens on tables and beds and the promise of romance if you just go out there and try.
Linden flowers smell and look so very delicate and the quality of the stuff Andy Tauer bottled here is amazing- it's so easy to go terribly wrong, loud synthetic and harsh with floral notes- but Zeta is the real thing, shaped by a sensitive artist and it lets you know it from the very first whiff. I smell honey as soon as I put Zeta on my skin. A light-colored and very gentle honey, but it's there (don't be scared, though. This is most definitely not Miel de Bois). I can almost mentally separate the little white flowers that come next- a pile of linden and a pile of orange blossoms. But then I'd want to draw them back into one heap and roll in them not very gracefully. Then again, we can just wear Zeta and avoid the embarrassment of this animalic behavior, right?
Zeta mellows down a little over time. It becomes both particles and waves. It hangs closer to the skin than any of the other Tauer perfumes and is different enough from them that I'd advise even non-Tauerheads to give it a try. There is a smooth wood and orris accord there that is a bit more cerebral than the pagan bacchanal of rolling and dancing amidst the blooming trees, but is equally enjoyable.
If you know someone who gets married this summer, give her or him a sample as a suggestion for a wedding scent/wedding shower gift. While I can't help thinking of Zeta in feminine terms and as a bridal perfume, I have no doubt that men who aren't afraid of flowers can pull it off. Especially those who liked the aesthetics of Tauer's Carillon Pour un Ange.
Now to the giveaway: I have three samples of Zeta to give away. To enter the draw please leave a comment and tell me which (if any) Tauer Perfumes you've already tried. Did you like them? Why (or why not)?
Zeta by Tauer Perfumes ($150, 50 ml) is now available from luckyscent.com (they also sell samples). The three samples for the giveaway were sent to me by the perfumer, as was the sample I tested and already used up. The full bottle I ordered from Luckyscent should be here on Friday afternoon, and believe me, that's not a moment too soon.
Notes: Lemon, bergamot, sweet orange, ylang, orange blossom absolute, neroli, linden blossom, rose, orris, sandalwood, vanilla.

Zeta sounds truly beautiful. I've never tried one of Tauer's perfumes, which I am starting to realize is a huge problem. My wallet weeps.
ReplyDeleteGaia,
ReplyDeleteI specifically noticed the art you chose for Zeta and it got my attention right there... and I'm so happy that I saw it. What a lovely review of what can only be a delightful scent from Andy. I very much admire LdDM and of course, le Maroc pour Elle's sweet, powdery rose. I'd love to try Andy's new Zeta!
I'd love to be entered in the draw for a sample. I've never tried any of the Tauer perfumes, but I'm curious because of the buzz they've been getting on Basenotes. PLUS I'm getting married in 2 weeks!
ReplyDeleteHi Gaia--love the Nin-Blonde! My favorite Tauer is Lonestar Memories. It is so evocative of the outdoors. Can't wait to smell Andy's take on Linden--
ReplyDeleteMary
L'air du Desert Morocain is one of my favourite scents, even though I can only afford to buy decants. I think it's absolutely lovely, and even though I'm a woman, I'd love to smell it on a man. I've smelled a few other Tauers as well (Lonestar Memories, Orange Star, Incense Rose, Incense Extreme, Maroc Pour Elle) and I love them for both their high quality and originality.
ReplyDeleteI really like your descriptions, Gaia, they're so poetic and image provoking.
ReplyDeletePersonally I've wanted to try Tauer perfumes for a long time now - particularly his rose perfumes, Un Rose Chypree, Le Maroc Pour Elle, and Une Rose Vermeille. But alas, I'm a typical poor college student.
Keep rocking your blog!
Dear Gaia,
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for your review! As you have stated before each Tauer perfume is a personal journey. And I love each and every one of them! I wish I have your eloquence and of course your nose...
I think Zeta is one of my favorites albeit it doesn't stick with me too long, just 3-4 hours, like Reverie. Are you luckier than me?
When it comes to my favorites... It is a tough question, LAdDM, Orange Star, Rose Vermeille, Rose Chypree, Zeta and Reverie I guess, but not in that particular order. The order changes every day depending upon which sample I am wearing...
I just want to thank you for writing about perfumes and cosmetics in general and Tauer perfumes in specific, without you, I may not able to discover them.
Aylin
My favorite Tauer is Carillon Pour un Ange, as it reminds me of my late nephew. He would have carried it off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteZeta sounds equally beautiful, but in a different way. I will definitely have to try it.
I tried almost all of them and my favourites are L'Air du Desert Marocain and Reverie au Jardin.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try Zeta - the smell of linden blossoms is the smell of my childhood. :)
Zeta intrigued me from the very first time I heard about it: I adore linden blossoms, it's the smell of my childhood, the smell of those lazy summer days, infused with blinding light and dancing cool shadows, in a little town in northern Italy.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try zeta.
Andy Tauer is one of the few modern perfumers that really speak to me, I like that his fragrances are layered, carefully crafted, complex and elegant.
My favorites from his line are Une rose chyprée and the classic air du desert. The latter is generously shared with my husband (actually the bottle is his! ;)).
I don't know if I can be entered in the draw because I haven't tried any Tauer perfume yet :(
ReplyDeleteI think that I would love many of them, especially Zeta and Eau d'Épices, according to the reviews I have read.
Thanks for this chance to win a sample!
Incense Rose is my favorite Tauer perfume. Usually I avoid rose perfumes because they smell like cloyingly sweet tea roses on my skin. Tauer's Incense Rose, on the other hand, smells absolutely divine-deep and rich & not at all sickly-sweet.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried any Tauer perfumes. I need to try Incense Rose soon.
ReplyDeleteAlways interesting to read your take on these, especially Tauer fragrances! I have tried Incense Rose, Lonestar Memories, and Le Maroc pour Elle. I need to try more, but so far, my favorite is Le Maroc pour Elle.
ReplyDeleteI love linden, so I'm anxious to try Zeta. As for Tauer perfumes I've tried...L'air du Desert Marocain, Lonestar Memories, Maroc pour elle, Orris, Reverie du Jardin, and Incense Rose. My favorite is probably L'air. Orris was a disaster.
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in the drawing. I love Andy, but sometimes the Tauerade base is a problem for me. I would love to try Zeta. THanks
ReplyDeleteGaia,
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting up this review. I have Zeta on the way as I type this. I really loved the series of letters that Mandy and Andy did on Nathans blog. I love Andy's work!
I have tried four Tauer fragrances so far - two which didn't work for me: Orange Star & Une Rose Vermeille and two that rock my world: L'air du Desert Marocain & Une Rose Chypree [which is one of my all-time favorite perfumes - gorgeous]. I have not yet found a linden based fragrance that I can wear well and I would love to give Zeta a try! Thanks for this givaway opportunity and *fingers crossed*.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first got into frags, I bought a big sample bag which included Un Rose Chypre. At the time, I thought it was pretty but not my style and swapped it away-- and now I regret that! I never swap away a sample anymore, because I frequently fall in love with a fragrance LATER when I start playing with a note (ex: rose, fig, incense, etc). Grr. I should have kept it. I keep thinking of buying his sample set. And I loooove that new Un Rose Vermeille bottle. I think it's the best bottle I've seen in years.
ReplyDeleteI have tried almost all of Tauer's creations and find most appealing one the Lonestar Memories, as well as Orange Star. Very curious about Zeta!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your perfume critiques for a long time and have been looking for THE perfect perfume for years. Haven't tried Tauer yet but maybe this is the one? Would love to get a sample. I thought Killian "Back To Black" might be it, but reading the ingredients in Zeta has me wondering. I'm a vanilla woman, but it must be subtle. Thank you for your wonderful reviews and this opportunity.
ReplyDeleteLinda
I haven't tried enough Tauer perfumes. I have tried L'Air du Desert Marocain - which I absolutely adore. It's something I really really really know I want a full bottle of, but unfortunately I can't afford one.
ReplyDeleteThe other one I have tried is Vetiver Dance. I don't think this is one of his most popular ones, but I adore it. I was blown away by its strange beauty - like nothing else I have ever smelled.
As for which ones I'd like to try ... all of them. But Zeta absolutely appeals to me ... I'm kinda obsessed with orange blossoms for a start.
Zeta sounds stunning and even though I'm not getting married THIS summer I can already tell you that from your review this is something I'd want to slip into as I slip into a wedding gown.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Lonestar Memories (even though I can barely afford it), and like you I feel a deep personal connection to Andy's work. Growing up in the deserts of WA state, Lonestar reminds me of home, even when I'm walking the streets of NYC.
Thank you for your knowledgeable critiques on perfume! I also love vanilla in small doses, so may love this one. Haven't tried Tauer scents yet, so this may be THE one I've been searching for for so long..I thought Back To Black might be the one, but I want someone to say "you smell good" and this hasn't happened yet...
ReplyDeleteThank you, also, for this opportunity to win a sample.
Neroli has been my unfulfilled love for many a year. I am always searching for its perfect expression in a perfume. I have not tried Zeta, or any other of Tauer's perfumes, as my eye's and nose's imagination are just now being awakened to all of the possibilites in the world of fine scents! I stumbled across your blog in November and have since subscribed too it. I look forward to it in my inbox every day, thank you for your beautiful descriptions, and straight shooting reviews.
ReplyDeleteRebecca
Tried all except Rose Vermielle,& Zeta, this is due to no sample/need a bottle!! All are so well crafted w/ huge heart - and that is why Andy is irreplaceable and irresistable!! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I would so love to try this - it seems to be getting amazing reviews everywhere. My only Tauer is L'Air du Desert, which I adore. I'm going to have to open the wallet and order a bunch of samples from Luckyscent and have a big ol' Tauer sniff-fest.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a Tauer perfume, as I started to love perfume when I lived overseas in a place where it was difficult to get many perfumes (and they were all very expensive due to import tax). I would love to try L'Air du Desert Marocain for sure, and your reviews always make me want more. I agree with Liz, "my wallet weeps."
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Tauer fragrances are Reverie au Jardin and L'Air du Desert Marocain. For some reason, I still haven't tried any of his rose scents, but they sound lovely. The Reverie au Jardin makes me feel happy because it seems like sunshine in a bottle for me. You definitely need to like lavender to be around it though. I'd love to be entered into the drawing. I've never smelled linden blossoms, but it sounds like a beautiful fragrance.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I'm trying to hold myself back from ordering this one unsniffed! I tend to love all of the Tauer perfumes. It's easier to name the ones I haven't tried yet - Incense Extreme, Reverie, Vetiver Dance, and Orange Star. If I don't win a sample, I'll be ordering all of these in one of Andy's sample packs.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried them all, but I notice that the ones that work for me, really work, and the ones that don't work, REALLY don't work. Nausea and/or headaches ensue, even if I've only applied a drop.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Une Rose Chypre, La Maroc, Eau d'Epices, Une Rose Vermeille, and Carillon. I have yet to actually buy a bottle, but I've been thinking lately that I need to toss that bottle of 2006 Diorissimo edp onto the ebay market and replace it with CpuA.
Orange Star nearly killed me. So did Incense Rose (surprising since, on paper, it sounds so me) and Reverie au Jardin.
Linden blossoms are so ethereally gorgeous; my sister-in-law has one in her front yard. The only fragrance I've smelled that came close was Amoureuse - and it wasn't quite right, either, it was too sweet and voluptuous.
I'm still a little leery of the orange blossom in Zeta, since OB can be unpleasantly soapy or deliver a back-of-the-throat rasp I find extremely uncomfortable. But I'm hoping that as usual, Andy's touch with florals will be deft.
Thanks so much for the draw!
It sounds like a beautiful summers dream scent, which I would dearly like to try. I don't think I'm even familiar with the scent of linden blossoms, but somehow the idea of them, stike a melancholic chord with me, maybe because of the many references in romantic poetry?
ReplyDeleteThe only Tauer I've been able to try so far is Lonestar Memory, which is one of my favourite leathers.
Thank you for the review and the draw :-)
Zeta sounds absolutely beautiful! I have some difficulty with the Tauer base but this one might do the trick. I love Vetiver Dance and URC caught my fancy but didn't work so well on me. Perhaps this one will be a hit!
ReplyDeleteHope springs!
xo A
ps. thank you for the generous giveaway (almost forgot my manners, there! :-)
I've tried a few Tauers, and the only one I liked was LdDM and even that I find hard to wear. But the main problem is that they've been a bit too masculine (I've not tried any of the recent florals.) This one sounds absolutely delicious, and the photograph you chose to accompany it is really charming. Beautiful review.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Tauer is L'Air du Desert Morocain (though I also love both Incenses, and Reverie au Jardin), but this one sounds right up my alley too. Thank you for the draw!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried any of Tauer's perfumes and would love to! Thanks for the opportunity, please enter me in the draw. :)
ReplyDeleteZeta is getting such great reviews. I am trying to resist ordering it unsniffed. I love Incense Rose but it is too heavy for summer.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried anny of Tauer's fragrances as of yet, but I would love to try Zeta. It sounds like the perfect spring/summer scent and would surely brighten my day.
ReplyDeleteI've tried samples of Lonestar Memories, L'Air du Desert Marocain, and Une Rose Chypree. Unfortunately, none of these worked for me, and I so wanted them to. They get a lot of love on the blogs, and Andy Tauer seems like a really terrific person. Hope springs eternal - both Zeta and Carillon pour un Ange sound wonderful. Please enter me in the drawing for Zeta!
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's a Tauer I dislike because they are clearly all quality even when they aren't necessarily what I want to wear. Orange Star is probably my least favourite as it smells strongly of soap to me. My favourite is Une Rose Chypree closely followed by L'Air du Desert Marocain. But I have a feeling this may supplant both of those. I would love to be entered in the draw.
ReplyDeleteI love Lonestar Memories, but didn't care for Rose Chypree. Would love to try Zeta. Please enter me in the draw.
ReplyDeleteOooh. Dying to try this one. I've tried Tauer's whole line to date save the Carillon, Lonestar and Orris (I wish!). I admire them all but am still looking for one to truly wear. The base often overwhelms me--was shocked at how enormous Orange Star became, for example. Feeling very hopeful about this one!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried any of these! I just started getting "into" perfume (because of this blog) so I'm still working on choosing the scents that are right for me! I'd love to give these a try.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great blog - I've really come to appreciate these reviews!
I am SO excited about this particular perfume of Andy's. I've posted elsewhere that I was walking last summer and came across a couple of Linden trees and was completely smitten. I can't wait to smell what he's done. I've tried most of his older creations ,but, unfortunately, not the newer ones of the last year or so. I have Orris - my favorite- and his LdDM which I love, but, I don't own any others. I agree, the art is exquisite, as usual.
ReplyDeleteI hope I win! Thanks for the blog. Rachel h
Hi Gaia!
ReplyDeleteL'Air du Desert Marocain was the first perfume I've ever smelled that made me think, "I want to smell like this for the rest of my life." My mom got me a bottle this past Hanukkah and I've been enjoying it ever since.
Despite my taste for really woody/oriental/incense-y scents, Zeta sounds amazing. I sometimes think niche perfumery is a little overblown, but Andy Tauer is the genuine article. Innovative AND top quality.
I have Maroc pour Elle and love it. I would love to try a sample of Zeta.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried any Tauer perfumes, but do wish too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for holding the draw.
I tried Carillon pour un ange based on your review. I love it because it is so completely unique from anything I've ever worn. I feel more confident when I wear it. It demonstrates to me the power that perfume can have.
ReplyDeleteTara
I love Reverie au Jardin best of the Tauer scents I've tried so far, though URV is a lovely second-place holder.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a sample of Zeta! :)
I have wanted to try Andy's perfumes for so long. I sometimes visit his blog where I am amazed by his dedication to natural botanicals. Now he has gone and featured linden in a perfume?! I must revisit his blog to see the trouble he went through to make Zeta. Linden is very hard to work with (a gooey sticky mess) and good quality linden blossom is difficult to find, if ever smelling like a real blossom.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say I had a favorite of andy's but I am not of the budget and more of a big admirer.
Please add me to the draw?
-KnD
When I first started testing a lot of perfumes, I tried L'Air du desert marocain and Le Maroc pour elle. Even though I did not care for these two, I was always willing to try his creations.
ReplyDeleteRecently, I tested Un Rose Vermeille, Vetiver Dance, and purchased Une Rose Chypree (love the 15ml offering).
I will certainly try the Zeta, mainly because our linden tree is sick and we will have to cut it down. I will miss those lovely blossoms.
Finally, I find Andy Tauer's perfumes very interesting and unique and really admire his business sense and approach. His is a perfume line that I am happy to support.
I've not had the pleasure of trying a Tauer scent. Being new to niche fragrance, I pick my purchases carefully. I've been in search of a summer perfume that will lift my spirits and Zeta appears to fit the bill. The bridal reference made me smile. We'll celebrate 22 years of wedded bliss next week. Perhaps a new scent will continue to keep the fires burning,
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any Zeta perfumes and am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be one of the lucky ones. Thanks for such a great blog, it's rare to find a beauty blog that covers brushes and fragrance reviews at the same time ( and I love unusual makeup brushes and am building my education on fragrances) Thanks for blogging.
ReplyDeleteDaisy
The prices of Tauer perfumes have increased dramatically in the past few years, which turns me off. However, I would love to give another one a try.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love smell of linden blossom! I haven't found it in perfume yet - unfortunately. So far I tested Tauer's L'Eau d Epices, and strange thing: on my skin it smelled violet, with a little hint of spices...
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be entered into the draw. I love how Tauer approaches his perfume visions and love how he rolls through new perfume materials. I was wearing Orris the other day..very strange/beautiful/rich/austere. My favourite is Rose Chypree...
ReplyDeleteCheryl
Hi Gaia! Aye Please enter me in the Zeta drawing - your description Transported me! WoW if Zeta captured me as has Lonestar Memories, I'd be doing that rolling-around thing you mentioned - ha!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Lonestar is unlike Anything I've ever experienced. It's like a live ocean on my arm that endlessly rolls wave after wave of darkly sparkling Spice! Forgive the desperate search for poetry - ha - but Lonestar is a forever part of who I am now, I'm That in Love. Oh Odes! Odes!! to Andy Tauer for this buh-RILLIANT elixer! :)
Zanne
I love linden, I love Tauer and I LOVE your blog. The best one out there!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried any Tauer perfume. I would love to try this one.
ReplyDeleteL'air du Desert Morocain takes me to a different place, different world every time I wear it. Nostalgia is totally a drug. But when I wear it brings me to Nutley, NJ in the early nineties: the clean, quiet rooms of my cousin's house, the public library, the blackberries that littered their backyard. I'm just happy when I wear it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try Zeta. I've tried almost all of Tauer's perfumes, and they have been hit or miss with me, but there are a couple that I loved enough to buy.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love Andy's perfumes. I have a discovery kit so I've tried most of them. My current favorite is Incense Rose.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually not a Tauer-ite, so your comment about this being softer wearing piqued my interest and makes me more hopeful. I think the only frag of his I really liked was Orris, and I've got like a half ml sample of it, that's it.
ReplyDeleteHi Gaia,
ReplyDeleteI have never tried Tauer perfumes but Zeta sounds perfect... Orange blossom is my favorite scent especially for summer. Thank you for the giveaway, I would love to be entered.
Teri
is that linden blossoms, as in "Unter der Linden"? I'd love to try this.
ReplyDeleteL'Air du Desert Marocain and Une Rose Chyprée are stellar, can't live without them scents.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try Zeta. It sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried any of the Tauer scents--that would involve sending away for samples, and I have too many of those as it is these days.
If I get down to LA this summer, I WILL visit Luckyscent.
Thanks for the drawing.
I've never been fortunate enough to try any of the Tauer perfumes so I don't have a preference.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do have is a bride and a sample would be perfect for her wedding day (May 7th). So please enter me in the giveaway for my soon to be "Daughter-in-Love", Tawnee.
I've tried all except Carillon pour un Ange, once day I will purchase both that and the new Zeta! I keep waiting for the exchange rate to get better but it doesn't.. =P My favorite of Tauer's has been Vetiver dance and Incense Rose, I love Tauer, the fragrance, the man, the whole works.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try this! Vetiver Dance and LAdDM are my favorites- I still need to get around to Orange Star.
ReplyDeleteThe only Tauer I tried was Une Rose Chypree, when I was on a rose kick. It did not work so well, though I dab it occasionally to "observe" the scent as it is interesting. most of Andy's creations seem quite intense so I've decided I'll sample his line in the cooler weather- but Zeta sounds perfect for the warm weather! Please enter me in the draw, and thank you!
ReplyDeleteI have also been waiting for this review. My favorite Tauer is Rose Vermeille, I think, but it's hard to choose. So many lovelies. I would really like to try Zeta!
ReplyDeleteI have L'Air du desert marocain which I love when I want to wear something different and smell unisex (I'm typically a heavy floral, white floral abuser).
ReplyDeleteBut I can't spray L'air directly onto my bare skin because it breaks me out in a rash. It's odd because I don't have sensitive skin. I'd like to know what's in L'air causing my allergic reaction.
I have tried all of Andy's creations, except this one!! Hope you will pick me so I can have an unbroken record. Not all of his wonderful creations work on me, but of those that do, my faves are the incense ones--Extreme, Rose and the fantastic L'Air....Can't wait to try this one.
ReplyDeleteI love linden! I also adore Reverie au Jardin and L'Air du Desert.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried any Tauer perfumes but they sound deicious - especially Zeta. It sounds perfect for summer
ReplyDelete[email protected]
I ordered a Tauer sample pack after reading some of your reviews, and I loved several of them! I'm still deciding, but I think my favorite was un rose chypre. Half the time when I try a perfume it smells like generic "perfume" instead of the thing it's supposed to be. None of the Tauer ones were like that- they all smelled like actual things that occur in nature :)

ReplyDeleteI adore Une Rose Chypree. Thanks for the review of Zeta - it sounds like another winner from Andy Tauer.
ReplyDeleteI've tried L'air du Desert Morocain, Lonestar Memories, and Reverie au Jardin. The first two are wonderful, even if they're not really the type of perfume I wear often. I originally thought I didn't really like Reverie, but I just keep wearing it. I find something about it immensely fascinating.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to try Tauer perfume. Your description sounds divine and up my alley. I have looked EVERYWHERE to find a lemony scent as you described "thin slices of lemon in water" and I haven't found it yet, but would love to try these samples. Jo Malone has some light, lemony scents, but they don't nail it - from your description it sounds like Tauer does.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your reviews!
I would love to try Zeta. I've only sampled Maroc pour Elle and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried on of Tauer's perfumes. I've read various reviews on other of his perfumes and they sound very interesting. I'd love to try Zeta.
ReplyDeleteHi Gaia,
ReplyDeleteI have never tried Tauer's perfumes despite owning 350+ different bottles. I am looking forward to winning this sample - Zeta must smell delish based on your review (I do think you could be my perfume twin).
Linden blossoms have a special place in my heart since they remind me of my childhood spent in a wonderful Mediterranean city!
Please enter me in the draw and thank you for the great reviews.
I have never tried any of Tauer's perfumes, but Zeta sounds like a beautiful introduction. Thank you!
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in the drawing! I have and love L'air du Desert Marocain and Lonestar Memories, and I'd love to try his take on a summer floral. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMmm, let's see, I've tried Orange Star, L'Air du Desert Marocain, Rose Chypree, Rose Vermeille, Epices, Carillon Pour un Ange, and I've got a sample of Maroc that I haven't tried yet. Of these, my favorite is definitely LdDM. I wouldn't wear Orange Star, because it's my roommate's favorite scent. Of the others, while I like the Roses, they're often a bit much for me. I do keep finding myself retrying Carillon. Thanks for the wonderful draw.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be entered into the Tauer sample giveaway. I have yet to try any of them. Your website has been my primary introduction into niche perfumes and I find your literary style and tastes to be in synch with what often appeals to me. I have begun my journey with a serious dip into your "Uncle Serge" via the Posh Peasant. My first order included all 22 of the export line and some of the non-export (all SL), an amber sampler, and luxe leather. Currently I am running through all my connections with family in the EU as my faves are rahat loukhoum and muscs kublai khan. Typical of my tastes, I can't fall in love with something I can get at Barney's. I plan to work my way through DSH and Tauer. Winning the sample would give me a leg up. Thanks to you I just ordered a full bottle of Fracas for spring but what I'd like to do is get a hold of a solid amount of Bandit. What I like most about your blog is that you exemplify a phenomena I am constantly in battle with myself. In today's society mediocrity rules and it's just not enough, not nearly enough. You show me differently every time you post.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Tauer perfumes, but it sounds absolutely fantastic from your description. Please enter me! Would love to try something sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if the contest is still open, but I would love to be included in the draw! I own 6 Tauers: Une Rose Chypre, LADM, Reverie au Jardin, Carillon, La Maroc, and Eau D'epices. It's really, really hard to pick a favorite...I have samples of the entire collection, so I'd have to say it's a tie between Orange Star and Reverie for me. But, as I said, it's difficult to pick, because I love them all :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to be included in the draw
ReplyDeletemy favourite Tauer is " une Rose Chyphree"
I would love to try Zeta. I have never tried one of Tauer's perfumes. I actually had never heard of them before this post.
ReplyDeletedenise_22315 at yahoo dot com
I have never tried a Tauer perfume as I am new to trying/buying fragrance (at 46 - haha). I would love to try them and since I do not have a collection, this would be the start of one and I would definitely wear them. Great giveaway Gaia!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried them before, but after reading your review, they sound delightful.

I have never tried any Tauer perfumes but I would love to make Zeta my first.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the drawing for a sample.
Never tried Tauer's perfumes, but you make them sound wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI've not yet tried Tauer's perfumes but I've read about them like mad and hope to be able to try several of them one day ....
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting into perfumes so trying a Tauer perfume-especially the way you describe it makes me want to try them soon!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a Tauer scent but would love to.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this review. I was totally convinced to order a sample from Luckyscent and as soon as I smelled it I knew I had found my wedding fragrance after weeks of auditioning sample after sample, with only 10 days to go until the big day. It's really lovely, modern, and suits my personality.
ReplyDelete
