Weekly Roundup- December 17th
So much stuff, so little time (and money). We're here to help you, because that's what beauty bloggers do...
Two words: Sea Turtles. You don't need to be an animal freak to adore Chantecaille's Sea Turtle Palette and the new Hydra Chic lipsticks Charlstongirl is sharing with us. See the gorgeous colors for spring - and find out how you can help save these wonderful creatures at Best Things in Beauty.
I've said this before and I'll say it again- shopping for foundation can be a torture. Kari isn't a fan, either. She was testing up a storm at Fab over Forty after reading makeup artist Pat McGrath's recommendations. It's interesting to see what she found.
Everybody loves limited editions and rare items. Sabrina shared some hard-to-find Chanel colors at The Beauty Look Book, lip and eye colors that were exclusive to Saks and Chanel.com. Personally, I'm skipping these items, as well as the entire Chanel spring collection (watch me eat my words in a couple of weeks), but Sabrina's Le Creuset is to die for (as always, I'm a huge fan, but I buy mine in orange and red, which I have a feeling Sabrina avoids like the plague). She also has great photos of The Precious, Le Metier Holiday Kaleidoscope.
Giorgio Armani Beauty has a new eye shadow formula, Eyes to Kill. Three shades were introduced for holiday as a preview of what's to come. I saw them in person at Barneys and was far more impressed than I intended to be. Amy showed us at Café Makeup how they stack up against some other favorites.
Bargain alert: At Gouldylox Reviews, Kelly gave us the 411 on a Bare Escentuals steal.
Jane demonstrated how she'll get her holiday glam with The Falsies Volume Express Mascara from Maybelline. Head over to Daly Beauty to see her before and after photos. I'll have what she's having.
I'm a sucker for skincare miracles (it comes with the territory). Carla at Product Girl has the details about Kate Somerville CytoCell Dermal Energizing Treatment.
Many of us fret about our holiday hair styles. Kristin showed us how to maintain our curls for the party season. Ever heard of Miss Jessie? You'll be looking for her after reading BeautyXposé.
Debbi was also thinking about her holiday hair style as she tried a dry shampoo. Find out why she gave Oscar Blandi's Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray a rave review at DivaDebbi.
Pat from OlfactaRama has a thought-provoking post about money and the price of perfume- bottles and samples.
On Blogdorf Goodman, Jessica reviews the wonderful Edward Bess products she got when we went shopping together. No enabling was involved- Edward's makeup sells itself as soon as you see and touch it.
Replica of Visionary Beauty raves about Hourglass Film Noir mascara. I agree with every word.
And last- my own beauty shenanigans of the week: The Sephora-exclusive YSL Rouge Couture Pur #20, a Nars classic blush: Sin, a beautiful Julie Hewett cream eye shadow that might be the best of its kind. My perfume week included a gorgeous natural perfume, Espionage by Ayala Moriel (leather chypre lovers will rejoice), Andy Tauer created the perfect rose perfume (I wouldn't expect any less from him) and the luxurious By Kilian Back To Black.
Have a beautiful weekend and keep warm!

Gaia - you know me too well. I avoid the flame color like crazy. Everytime I get asked "what color do you think I should get?" by someone, I say "dune." I always get a weird look followed by a "how BORING!" comment.
ReplyDeleteI loved your review on the LMdB kit. It is indeed precious. LOVE.
