Most worn recently:
1. Chanel No. 5 in every formulation and incarnation from Eau Premier to vintage extrait and everything in between.
2. Histoires de Parfums Tubereuse 3. Reaching out to my inner animal.
3. Vintage Armani (the original 1980s one). It's all about the oakmoss. Take that, IFRA.
Bottles topping my current wislist:
1. Tauer Perfumes- Orange Star. Why, of course.
2. Guerlain- Bois Torride. A recent love.
3. Ormonde Jayne- Orris Noir. Went through enough samples to fully justify a bottle.
Famous people who should team up with Etat Libre d'Orange to create a perfume:
1. Grace Coddington
2. Carla Bruni
3. J.K. Rowling
(notice that I didn't say Betty White)
Scents I wish Christopher Brosius would capture for me:
1. Cat- Especially my Lizzy's sweet spot behind the ears, Peter's fluffy belly and Giselle's forehead.
2. The moment you open your car door when you arrive at the beach on a very hot day.
3. My mom's lemon rind and chocolate chip cake.
I should hate but I really (really!) don't:
1. Voyage d'Hermes -A somewhat redundant typical Elena creation that manages to be better than the sum of its parts.
2. Serge Lutens L'Eau -I don't care what he says. This is what Uncle Serge cooks up when the suits at Shiseido tell him to come up with something that would actually sell. And it's very appealing.
3. L'Artisan Nuit de Tubereuse -It has a very detectable mango note. 'Nuff said.
How about yours?
Most worn recently:
ReplyDelete1. Creed Tubereuse Indiana - pretty woman perfume
2. Cartier Panthere vintage parfum - perfect 80s sexy
3. Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle - clean sparkling flowers
4. Guerlain Apres l'Ondee - cause its just perfect
Wishlist:
1. Guerlain Jicky - finally fell in love
2. 28 la Pausa - simply beautiful
3. Bois de Iles parfum - I blame The Non Blonde ;)
Famous people who should team up with Eld'O:
1. Jane Fonda
2. Candace Bergen
3. The hot architect Carrie meets in the dessert in SATC#2....oh wait, I want to see him in Emporio Armani underwear ads, nevermind
Scents I wish CB would create:
1. The scent of my daughters' hair
2. The scent of my late dog's paws (probably not far off kitty ears)
3. The smell of early morning in July when I step outside as the sun rises
Scents I should love but don't:
1. L'Artisan Nuit de Tubereuse - I was DYING for this one...it smells like something that I wore to death in the 80s that I can't recall...I'll try it again but...
2. VIntage Balenciaga Prelude - who knew this was loaded with leather? Eep.
Love your post - what a fabulous idea. Here's my contribution for what it's worth.

(btw- i was surprised by your JK Rowling suggestion. maybe it's because i have kids. the whole harry potter franchise imposed itself in(on?) my life for the past 12 years, and i didn't have a choice. lol.)
no ideas for CB, though i do have many smells/memories i wish i could have on hand. maybe the smell of my oldest daughter at different ages-- as she is leaving for college in a couple of months.
scents i should love but don't:
Strange Invisible People- Fire and Cream. I swear I must have a bad sample or it's mislabeled. It smells like charcoal briquettes, then dries down to something that makes the words 'brimstone and treacle' come to mind. Intriguing yes, but also nightmare inducing.
Would you pretty please consider sharing the recipe for the lemon rind and chocolate chip cake?? It sounds fabulous!
ReplyDeletei'm with you on the cat fur perfume. add my peter cat's and my georgie's fluffy bellies to the mix. nothing more calming and wonderful in the world. and christopher brosius is the guy i'd put on the project. wonder if he will read this. can only hope.

people for ELdO: david bowie; elizabeth taylor; raquel welch.
wishlist: bois 1920 come la luna because it smells like vintage cabochard on me.
Most worn recently:
ReplyDelete1. Ava Luxe Mousse de Chine (recent purchase since she re-opened in parfum extrait concentration)
2. vintage Givenchy III because it's so damn beautiful I could cry
3. Chanel No. 22 in eau de cologne. I think my bottle is vintage? It's the most potent, most incense-y, most gorgeous concentration
4. Bond No. 9 Chinatown. It works oddly well in the heat.
Wishlist:
1. Washington Tremlett Iris Absolute (it's an unsniffed desire)
2. the new Mona di O's
3. the new Amouage collection
4. Annick Goutal Grand Amour in the crimson butterfly bottle.
Famous people who should team up with Eld'O:
1. Bill Clinton because I miss him.
2. Ellen Barkin
3. Anjelica Huston
Scents I wish CB would create:
1. another vote for dog's paws (but my doggie's paws ;-/)
2. silly putty with a dollop of play doh
3. The smell of the desert after it rains. Being new to the desert these days, all the smells around me are weird.
Scents I should love but don't:
1. L'Artisan Nuit de Tubereuse: it's a fruity floral over incense with no tuberose. Stop the hype machine.
2. Serge Lutens Nuit de Cellophane. Well, maybe I shouldn't even like this to begin with. Too bright, clean, perky and where the hell is the osmanthus?
3. Guerlain L'Instant. Now I'm not dissing on this just because it's a 'newer' Guerlain. It just disgusts me and I love most ambery frags. It's one of my few absolute scrubbers along with Creed Love in White.
