Venise (#26) is the warmest of the bunch. It's a nice brick red. On my lips some of the brown is neutralized by my natural lip color, but it's still warm enough.
Rivoli (#21) is a red berry. Very wearable and cheerful, but cannot be ignored.
Ballet Russe (#29) is a femme fatale. Blood red with a hint of purple. The other Rouge Coco purples I've tried (or bought, like Byzantine) can be worn during the day if you're very careful about keeping everything else to the barest minimum. Ballet Russe is a creature of the night.
Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstics ($30) are available from the usual suspects, online and in store. I bought mine at my local Saks and on neimanmarcus.com.

I just love these lipsticks. The colour story of this collection is uber sophisticated. They are classic without being dated. I find that when I am looking for classic lip colours artists lead me to "costume retro" shades. With Chanel I can see the modernization of the classic femme in their offerings.
ReplyDeleteYou made some fabulous choices :)
I never thought I could pull off Ballet Russe, but an excellent MA created a look for me that made me feel like a Russian ballerina--sophisticated and high drama. The color is not for the feint of heart, but when worn with elan and confidence, it's a knock out.
ReplyDeleteI agree with BarcelonaChair. The Rouge Coco colors are true classics and yet the texture and finish prevent them from seeming dated. Bravo, Chanel!
I love the color venise (:
ReplyDeletei'll buy these for my mum for her birthday xD
I have Ballet Russe and I appreciate this color more and more each day. The color is so rich and sophisticated..
ReplyDeleteSo funny; I bought the exact same 3 lipsticks! Love 'em!
