Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick- 79 Impertinente
It looks like Chanel has really struck gold with their Les Impressions de Chanel Spring 2010 collection. I'm getting many emails inquiring about this collection and everyone seems to be interested in at least one product. Since it's taking me too long to reply individually and there are several popular questions, I'll try and answer them here:
1. Comparison between Chanel Le Vernis Particuliere and OPI You Don't Know Jacques- Jacques is darker with a little more brown. You can see excellent side by side swatches on The Beauty Look Book. Lina knows her Chanel and has a fabulous collection.
2. The face highlighter, Empertine de Chanel, is beautiful but too dark, shimmery and red-based for my liking. It's darker than it appears not only in stock photos, but also in the plastic demo of the collection you see at Chanel counter. I passed.
3. Most of the lip colors options- lipsticks and Glossimers- were too pale for me. I only got the Rouge Allure lipstick in Impertinente, which I'm featuring here.
You can't really go wrong with a Chanel lipstick. Rouge Allure has a light, creamy texture that wears comfortably and looks great on the lips. I've noticed that if applied straight from the tube, Impertinente tends to migrate towards my teeth, so I switched to a lip brush which solved the problem.
The color is a medium dusty rose which looks warmer on my wrist than on my lips- it's rosier wand less brown when I wear it, because my natural lip pigment is quite dark. For me it's an easy to wear color that goes from day to evening. Pale folk would probably prefer it after dark. In any case, the color is elegant and attractive.
Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick 79 Impertinente ($30) and the rest of Les Impressions de Chanel Spring 2010 collection are available at Saks, which is where I bought mine, and starting today also on Chanel website. If you're looking for the lip colors of the collection on the site you'll need to go to each product separately, since at the moment they don't appear on the collection's main page.
All photos by me, curious cat is Lizzy.
I think this is one of the most beautiful lipstick collections I've seen in quite a while. It's simple, just four colors, but there is something for everyone. My skin is light and warm so I picked up Delicieuse which is a slightly shimmery apricot. I went back for Incognito which is described as a neutral nude pink but which actually looks like a soft rose gold on my dark lips. Chanel continues to create beautiful Rouge Allure colors.
